Please be aware of these new organizations popping up just as O'Malley is starting his national campaign. The Central Maryland Transportation Alliance is just like the Maryland Health Care for All and the Baltimore Education Coalition.....it is simply an organization controlled by the 1% to move the issue their way.
Please OCCUPY these organizations and their output as citizens will not have their voices heard otherwise. OF COURSE WE NEED A CENTRALIZED PLAN FOR TRANSPORTATION AND WE NEED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PEOPLE.......but we do not want corporate consultants telling us what that looks like!!!!
Central Maryland Transportation Alliance
Non-Profit OrganizationThe Transportation Alliance is a diverse coalition working to improve & expand transportation options for the citizens & businesses of Central Maryland.
One of the biggest concerns for Marylanders and indeed across the country is the movement by corporate politicians....in Maryland's case Third Way corporate democrats to hand transportation development over to private developers by allowing them to enter public private partnerships. Now, these are often the same people who owe trillions of dollars in corporate fraud and evaded corporate taxes which makes our government coffers empty....so, it is the same as an army encircling a town and starving its supply routes until it surrenders and allows the invading army to take control of town governance. Same thing. So we are seeing Google paying for San Francisco's buses and transit while it designs the routes according to how to make it accessible to its own employees for example. In northern Virginia developers are being allowed to pay for infrastructure and vehicles that take people directly to their businesses. We only have to look at Baltimore's transit to see all public transit involves getting employees to Johns Hopkins. NONE OF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH TRANSIT THAT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO LIVE WHERE THEY WANT AND TRAVEL IN THE WAY THEY WANT......WHICH IS ABOUT WHAT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IS DESIGNED TO DO.
As we hear Anthony Brown and Maggie McIntosh shouting for O'Malley's plan to use copious public private partnerships to boost transportation needs this will be the issues all citizens should shout loudly first and foremost. We do indeed want people out of their cars and using public transportation but we want people to have choices in doing so and that will not happen with corporate interests taking the lead!!!! Designing for profit will never be good for the people!
If you look at Central Maryland Transportation Alliance you will see a list of 'Likes' that are the Who's Who of Baltimore Development Corporation....the 'gifting and giving' private non-profits that are the 1%. Below you will see the Baltimore Community Foundation which is just that. This is where the rich and corporations launder their money to people who write public policy the way they want it....ALEC. So, these private non-profits allow donors to say what they want transportation to look like....the policies are written and your Third Way corporate politician both in the Baltimore City Council and the Maryland Assembly vote for what these 'alliance' members want. Keep in mind the community input and even the members of these private non-profit alliances almost every time say that what they wanted was ignored.
BELOW YOU SEE A GREAT BIG BALTIMORE NGO THAT ACTS AS A SHADOW GOVERNMENT IN CAPTURING THESE POLICY ISSUES!!!

Center Maryland is O'Malley and his Third Way corporate democratic policy machine and it is gearing up to disseminate all kinds of propaganda for his national election. It will use these private non-profits that are the 1% for his press headlines about how he worked wonders in Maryland when his whole administration was smoke and mirrors.
WE NEED PEOPLE TO SHOUT LOUDLY AND STRONGLY ON THESE PUBLIC POLICY ORGANIZATION PLATFORMS! IF OUR VOICES CROWD OUT THE VOICES OF THE 1% THEN THESE PROPAGANDA MACHINES BECOME USELESS TO THEM, USEFUL FOR US!!!
About the Center
Maryland had a long tradition of moderate, pragmatic leadership, with Democrats and Republicans coming together to build the university system, promote economic growth and plan for our state’s future.
Increasingly, however, Annapolis is becoming more like Washington. The incentives in Maryland’s political system are set up to elect and reward behavior that drives our public discourse toward narrow political extremes. As a result, actions are taken without considering the broader impact on our state’s families and businesses – with the computer services sales tax serving as one of the more recent and egregious examples.
It’s time to draw people back to the center – to find common ground on common sense policies where we can make progress. Center Maryland isn’t about people or posturing – it is about creating a platform to advance reasonable and responsible ideas.
Led by some of Maryland’s most successful political thinkers, strategists and fundraisers, Center Maryland will provide an effective counterbalance to the polarization and populism that too often wins the day in Annapolis.
Center Maryland recognizes that government cannot solve all of society’s problems. But government can and should be an effective partner – working with the private sector – to move our state forward.
Moderate political leaders understand the critical role played by entrepreneurship and innovation in lifting our state. The private sector is a force to be nurtured. And both government and business share a responsibility to return Maryland to the moderate, pragmatic leadership that has been central to our state’s success.
Who we are
Steve Kearney is co-owner of a strategic communications firm that helps clients win at the intersection of business, government, politics and media. In 2006 and 2008, he was a top strategist on two of Maryland’s most recent successful statewide campaigns. The Baltimore Business Journal hailed Kearney in its January 2009 POWER 20 issue, as one of three rising business leaders “gaining power in Greater Baltimore.” Kearney was a top adviser for more than a decade to Martin O’Malley during his successful campaigns for mayor and governor, serving as Communications Director for O’Malley in both elected offices. He also advised Cardinal William Keeler during the 2002-2003 crisis in the Catholic Church. He serves on the board of directors of Partners in Excellence, providing Catholic school scholarships to at-risk Baltimore children, and on the Greater Baltimore Committee’s President’s Advisory Council.
Martin G. Knott Jr. is an entrepreneur and co-Owner of Knott Mechanical Inc. and Wye River Technologies. Knott Mechanical is one of the Baltimore Metropolitan area's premier Commercial HVAC and Plumbing service providers, working with more than 150 customers including Johns Hopkins and Comcast. Wye River Technologies is a software development firm currently developing a wireless field force automation software for managing a wide range of service businesses. Knott served as the Chair of the O'Malley-Brown transition Team for the Department of General Services. Governor O’Malley appointed Knott to serve on the Governors Workforce Investment Board as Co Chair of the Construction Industry Initiative, and to the board of MEDCO, Maryland Economic Development Corporation, where he is currently serving as the Vice Chair. Knott also serves local charities, including Vice President of the Signal 13 Foundation, and board member of Johns Hopkins Harriet Lane Foundation, the Baltimore Outward Bound Center and The Marion I and Henry J. Knott Foundation.

WHAT MOVING MARYLAND FORWARD NETWORK DOES IS COLLECT CITIZENS EMAIL ADDRESSES AND CONNECTS THEM TO A PRIVATE NON-PROFIT THAT WILL AGAIN FAIL TO SHOUT OUT ON THE ISSUES WE NEED TO ADDRESS IN ORDER TO REBUILD OUT DEMOCRACY. IT IS O'MALLEY'S ORGANIZATION THAT WILL TELL US NO DOUBT THAT WE ARE TO VOTE FOR ALL OF MARYLAND'S INCUMBENTS YET AGAIN.....THIRD WAY RULES FOR O'MALLEY!!!!!!!
DO NOT ALLOW ORGANIZATIONS WHICH DO ADDRESS NEEDED ISSUES LEAD YOU.......IF THEY ARE NOT SHOUTING OUT ABOUT THE GORILLA IN THE ROOM....WEALTH INEQUITY CREATED BY MASSIVE CORPORATE FRAUD AND SUSPENSION OF RULE OF LAW.....THEY ARE NOT WORKING FOR YOU AND ME!!
The Moving Maryland Forward Network (MMFN)
is part of a bold vision to energize the strength of progressive advocates by connecting new online audiences in Maryland to the long and successful history of Maryland’s advocacy Leaders. MMFN is an initiative designed to transform advocacy campaigns in Maryland by building an advocacy network of Leaders who are capable of moving social and policy change more efficiently and effectively. The project is managed by Netcentric Campaigns and funded by the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation.
The top advocacy Leaders in Maryland are “networked” in a traditional sense. These key players know each other. Many organizations already work in specific coalitions or coordinated campaigns. MMFN is not designed to compete with those ways of working together. MMFN aims to layer in a robust and supportive network structure to complement the traditional and offline work of many good groups working in Maryland.
MMFN aims to ensure traditional organizing is not disconnected from online discussion, online debates and power of online mobilizations. MMFN is designed to engage more people and improve the online and mobile organizing strategies of Maryland’s best advocates.
We need your help to spread the word today, so please take any of the following actions that you can;
THE REASONS THE RICH HAVE SUPERSIZED MONEY AND POWER AND ARE TAKING CONTROL OF ALL PUBLIC POLICY IS THE FAILURE OF RULE OF LAW TO RECOVER AND HOLD ACCOUNTABLE THE BAD GUYS WITH MONEY. SO AS WE WATCH THESE BAD GUYS SETTING UP THESE ORGANIZATIONS TO CARRY OUT THEIR AGENDA......IT IS UP TO YOU AND ME TO SHOUT OUT IN SUPPORT OF THOSE WHO DO STAND UP AND TO EMBRACE THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO SHOUT OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM.
WE KNOW THAT NONE OF MARYLAND POLS ARE SAYING A PEEP ABOUT ALL OF THIS.....THEY MUST GO!!!!!!
RUN AND VOTE FOR LABOR AND JUSTICE NEXT ELECTIONS!!!!
BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHY THE CITIZENS OF MARYLAND HAVE NO VOICE......IT ALL INVOLVES OUR JUSTICE AGENCIES!!!
Regarding Fraser's reference to Maryland's court system failing to meet Constitutional rights to speedy trial and access to justice:
First it seems odd to pick this one instance in what is a systemically corrupt court/justice system here in Maryland but let's look at why Fraser might want to highlight this case of the person found in possession of a gun not getting due process. Remember, we have a Baltimore City blogger named MacAurthur having been in jail without bail for several months still awaiting trial for what he and his supporters think is illegal tactics by the police department, and we know that civil right protesters like CD Witherspoon and Sharon Black and the EBDI Community Churches leader all had charges and extended court periods used against them for what was in the end charges that were dropped. The goal is intimidation and fear to keep people from speaking out and making public the injustice and illegalities of what is crony politics in Baltimore. That is what this current report on the jailed person charged with gun crimes seeks to do. When a news agency can openly expose the crime and corruption in the system and nothing happens, then it becomes a tool for the intimidation.....not justice. In other words, if WYPR were trying to hold government accountable they would go all the way and make all of these injustices so public as to make it impossible for politicians to operate freely. That is the duplicity of Maryland's media in this cronyism. What Fraser was trying to do is instill fear in people who are in very real positions of having themselves discovered with guns whether planted by police or owned by people termed 'felons' who most of us would agree are not felons....that is the categorization problem that makes most poor people felons. It appears to coincide with the new gun laws passed by the Maryland Assembly that identifies ever more people as not able to own guns and therefor susceptible to these intimidation by extending court proceedings and sentencing.
This problem with Maryland's courts and corruptions goes beyond the lives of the poor who get trapped in this third world injustice.....we can look at the subprime mortgage fraud that moved trillions of dollars in fraud with no justice brought to those defrauded and those damaged by the effects of the economic collapse by fraud. Look at one small instance....the MERS court decision that was first in the nation to rule that the MERS process was not illegal setting precedent for all the nation to declare MERS safe from criminal actions. Remember, MERS is the subprime mortgage operation based here in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs where it started. MERS was clearly criminal and fraud was committed by not only financial agents reselling the bad mortgage loans over and over, but the lawyers and accountants who signed off on them as legally sound were guilty as well. I was told that is why no private legal action has happened as all of Maryland's law firms were hugely enriched by participating in the massive fraud. So, it is the state court and governors who appoint these judges who set the stage for rulings that NO ONE BELIEVES REPRESENTS RULE OF LAW. That mirrors what is happening in the microcosm of this one person with a gun charge or the civil rights activists..... Due process is being ignored.
The overall problem is the dismantling of the US justice and judicial system as Third Way corporate democrats and republicans work to make US law only about protecting the rights of corporations....business law is the only law. Sandra Day O'Conner warned as such when she retired a decade ago. The citizens of the US will not be citizens if they allow Rule of Law to fail to meet Equal Protection Under Law. That protection is what makes you and I 'citizens'. It starts with the US Attorney General's Office and the Capitol Hill pols charged with funding justice. Do you know that Mikulski was charged with funding the white collar criminal agencies of the FBI right after the 2008 collapse and she allowed the agency to be funded at one of the lowest rates in history? The Maryland Assembly and Baltimore City Council do the same with their budgets and justice agencies. THIS IS THE PROBLEM AND IT IS THE SOLUTION. IT IS EASY TO SEND THESE THIRD WAY CORPORATE DEMOCRATS PACKING AND RUNNING AND VOTING FOR LABOR AND JUSTICE!!!
For those who are deeply political and lefties there was no one incident of heartbreak than when we heard Eliot Spitzer committed the crimes he did and fell from grace. he was doing just as we needed and wanted and he fell because he was just as 'unaccountable' as the people he chased. WE GRABBED ONTO THE ONE COURT JUDGE.....RUGOFF ......WHO DARED SAY THESE FEDERAL BANK SETTLEMENTS WERE BOGUS.
STOP ALLOWING THIS DISMANTLING OF JUSTICE THAT IN TURN MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO EXERCISE OUR RIGHTS AS CITIZENS!!!
White Collar Crime is Tearing This Country Apart
By Shirley M. Mueller, MD, Wednesday, June 15th 2011 White collar crime affects all of us. It encompasses nonviolent transgressions perpetrated by sophisticated individuals, often in the financial industry. Its annual cost to Americans was between $300 and $660 billion in 2005 according to The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. It is surely more now. At the same time, the perpetrators often suffer little, if at all, and retain the riches gained through deceptive practices. But Spitzer, a lawyer by training, ruffled white collar crime and brought the ire of those who engage in it down on his head.
In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis many escaped justice who probably shouldn’t have. But fighting white collar crime is difficult — just watch the documentary, “Rough Justice, The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer.” Though his story was sensationalized because he engaged in prostitution, former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s undoing seems to be something more. In particular, he had a nasty habit of making enemies with powerful people by cracking down on white collar crime.
Spitzer was New York State Attorney General from 1999 to 2006. During that time he went after securities fraud, price fixing, predatory lending practices and corporate deceptive. This means Spitzer stepped on the toes of powerful people. He not only accused, but in many cases prosecuted.
In 2002, Spitzer published emails from well-known Merrill Lynch stock analyst Henry Blodget that showed he was privately providing information that conflicted with his public recommendations. His motivation, one can conjecture, was that he was hired by Merrill Lynch and thereby partial to their interests. And since Blodget was not providing the accurate, honest recommendation the public was relying on him for, Spitzer charged Blodget with civil securities fraud. The settlement barred Blodget, the co-founder and chief executive officer of Business Insider, from the securities industry for life.
This and other Spitzer actions were no doubt threatening to both individuals and corporations that were deceitful in their practices. It may be why even though lots of public figures were clients of prostitution, only one brought sufficient negative attention so that his career was ruined. It was Spitzer.
Alex Gibney, the director and writer of the documentary, “Rough Justice, The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer,” leads the viewer through evidence that the prosecution of Spitzer wasn’t just fortuitous. Normally federal prosecutors do not charge the clients of prostitutes. However, the 1910 Mann Act prohibited the transportation across state lines for the purpose of prostitution. Spitzer brought a prostitute from New York to Washington, D.C. to have a tryst in the Renaissance Hotel under the name of George Fox. Someone had made it his business to know these tedious details.
“Was that accidental?” Gibney asks. The New York Times broke the story on March 10, 2008 when Spitzer was governor of New York. Shortly thereafter he resigned.
Though it is true that what Spitzer did by engaging in prostitution was socially unacceptable, he also fought for years — to the benefit of the American public — against white collar crimes.
We can only hope that there are others waiting in the wings to take on this gigantic battle, though with better personal judgment than ex-Governor Spitzer. Still, one wonders who would be so brave or foolish after Spitzer’s experience. There are few without a blemish that a dedicated investigator hired by white collar criminals couldn’t find and use to their advantage.
So perhaps Spitzer’s fate is a reason there has been so few specific charges and hearings and so little fallout from the financial crisis. It may have been that some of the potential prosecutors watched the neutralization of Spitzer and judged that the personal cost of accusing a white collar criminal could be too great, even if it served the greater good.
