Weekends I do not blog but  share actions and in this election season speak to the primary races and soon to be general elections in Maryland.

As I stated earlier, it is the duty of the Maryland Attorney General and the Maryland Election Board to enforce both Federal and state election law.  The Maryland Attorney General would let the US Attorney General's Office know election violations are happening in the state.  If these agencies fail to uphold Rule of Law, it is the Maryland Circuit Court responsible to provide justice for someone experiencing election fraud.  It is the Federal Election Commission charged with investigating and providing justice for someone experiencing election fraud.  If the FEC fails to do its duty.....then the Federal courts come into play.

MAKE NO MISTAKE-----ALL OF WHAT I SPEAK IN THIS ELECTION IS INDEED CLEAR ELECTION VIOLATION AND SYSTEMIC FRAUD.  YOU ARE WITNESSING STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES REFUSING TO ACT IN THEIR CAPACITY TO PROTECT AND SERVE----TO ENFORCE RULE OF LAW.

This is no small matter and it reflects why more and more American people are not voting or feeling their votes do not matter.  It is a systematic dismantling of our election system.  We heard just recently that in Maryland over 630,000 voters are unaffiliated with a party and it is because of these illegal election practices.

THAT'S 1/3 OF MARYLAND VOTERS AND THOSE STILL IN PARTIES HAVE AN EXTREMELY LOW TURNOUT.  IT IS THE SYSTEMIC ELECTION FRAUD THAT CREATES THE APATHY.

A political campaign is a non-profit entity and as such are susceptible to the same election laws as everyone else.  So, when a candidate in a race participates in an election event or organizes an event that willfully and deliberately excludes candidates in that race------they are guilty of election violations.  The practice of having one candidate invite two others to a forum or debate, deliberately leaving out others in a race constitutes a 501c3 violation of election law that says----do not damage a candidate's campaign.  The same is true when these same candidates participate in an election event hosted by other organizations knowing that event violates election laws of excluding other candidates in a race.

When Anthony Brown invites Gansler and Mizeur to debate-----when Gansler, Mizeur, and Brown participate in forums while Cindy Walsh is protesting exclusion from these events as they walk by to the stage venue----they are actively breaking election law.  Violating election law is a felony offense and as the guideline show below-----any candidate elected having committed a felony shall be ineligible to hold public office.

Keep in mind, this systematic censure of one candidate's campaign is VERY serious election violations.  We will ask that the democratic primary results be disqualified and no democratic candidate move forward in the general election.

At the same time, Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland seeks her opportunity to participate in these elections and requests a reprieve from the election statute requiring registration for the general election by February 2014 allowing her to register as a Green Party candidate in Maryland's General Election of 2014 for Governor of Maryland.

MARYLAND STATUTES AND CODES Section 16-1001 - General penalty provisions. Listen § 16-1001. General penalty provisions.

Disqualification of candidate found in violation.- A candidate who is convicted of any practice prohibited by this article shall be ineligible to be elected or appointed to any public office or employment for a period of 5 years following the date of the conviction.

[An. Code 1957, art. 33, § 16-1001; 2002, ch. 291, §§ 2, 4.]

MARYLAND STATUTES AND CODES Section 5-101 - In general. Listen § 5-101. In general.

(a)  Applicability.- This subtitle governs the process by which an individual becomes a candidate for a public or party office in an election governed by this article.

(b)  Compliance required.- An individual's name may not be placed on the ballot and submitted to the voters at an election unless the individual complies with the requirements of this title.

[An. Code 1957, art. 33, § 5-101; 2002, ch. 291, §§ 2, 4.]

_____________________________________________

Cindy Walsh for Governor was told time and again that 3 of the democratic candidates would not appear at an event if I was invited, the candidates arranged their own debates/forums exclusive of me, and on many occasions physically saw me protesting my exclusion from events.  Media constantly referred to the democratic race in ways that defined the contest with only 3 candidates in the race.

When someone knows an operation is acting illegally and chooses to participate with no acknowledgement of said crime they are now guilty of the crime itself.  If you walk into a gambling activity and find it to be illegal but sit down anyway to participate-----you are just as guilty as those organizing the event.  If any or all of those democrats for governor had refused to participate and/or made an official protest of illegal actions those charged with enforcement would have been pressured to act.  It is the failure at all levels to report and refuse to participate in illegal activities that has allowed Maryland's election system to become systemically criminal.

Cindy Walsh even went to Jon Cardin----candidate for Maryland Attorney General and head of the Maryland Assembly Elections Committee -----to complain about the fraud and he said----'that's the way we do it in Maryland'.

Since the entire democratic primary was rife with fraud there is no way any one candidate can win this election.  It is therefor necessary to void the primary election results and require the Maryland Democratic Party be monitored for a period of several gubernatorial election cycles by both state and federal officials for adherence to the letter of the law.

Pursuant to 18 USCS § 594, whoever intimidates, threatens, coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, at any election held solely or in part for the purpose of electing such candidate, shall be fined or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

The statute prosecutes individuals who conspire to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States or any agency thereof in order to violate election laws.

Pursuant to 18 USCS § 241, two or more persons are prohibited from conspiring to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any state, territory, commonwealth, possession, or district in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him or her by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his or her having so exercised the same.

42 USCS § 1985 provides that an action for damages where two or more persons have conspired to:

  • deprive any person or class of persons of the equal protection of the laws, or of equal privileges and immunities under the laws;
  • prevent or hinder the constituted authorities of any state or territory from giving or securing to all persons within such state or territory the equal protection of the laws; or
  • prevent by force, intimidation, or threat any citizen who is lawfully entitled to vote from giving his or her support or advocacy in a legal manner toward or in favor of the election of any lawfully qualified person as an elector for President or Vice President, or as a member of Congress, or to injure any citizen in person or property on account of such support or advocacy.
In any case of conspiracy as set forth above, if one or more persons engaged therein do, or cause to be done, any act in furtherance of the object of such conspiracy, whereby another is injured in his or her person or property, or deprived of having and exercising any right or privilege of a citizen of the United States, the party so injured or deprived may have an action for the recovery of damages occasioned by such injury or deprivation, against any one or more of the conspirators.

NEO-LIBERALISM IS A WAR AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN AS POVERTY DEEPENS AND BROADENS AND OUR US CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND EQUAL PROTECTION ARE SUSPENDED.

I will talk about elections in Maryland today and Friday and then return to the policy issues.  Maryland can easily have free and fair elections but it must have leadership that creates this environment.  Whether republican or democrat if all candidates in a race cannot get name recognition and their platform to the public through 501c3 to balance the onslaught of private media ads and coverage----there will be no elections.  I hear Sarbanes, Cardin, Cummings, and Mikulski all of Baltimore pushing for early voting, for getting out the vote, and for campaign finance reform and all of them are the face of the democratic system in Maryland that allows such blatant censure of candidates-----   AND THIS HARMS ELECTIONS THE MOST.  THESE ARE NEO-LIBERALS FOLKS---NOT DEMOCRATS!

Let's look at Maryland political organizations and how they work within this captured system.  First, let's look at neo-liberalism and how it moves towards third world society and how women and people of color are harmed most in third world poverty and then ask----why are these organizations saying they support women and people of color supporting neo-liberals and allowing captured elections?

________________________________________________

The Maryland State office of the League of Women Voters controls all of the branches and they have partnered throughout this primary with events they know break the election laws.  They themselves use this poll number guideline and break it whenever necessary.  The League allows this arbitrary election process.

It has as its mission protecting elections and advocating for women in the election process but has told Cindy Walsh---we accept all of the republican candidates and neo-liberals.

THIS IS A CAPTURE OF A VITAL ORGANIZATION WITH LEADERSHIP WORKING FOR NEO-LIBERALS AND NOT PUBLIC JUSTICE.  WE NEED TO SHAKE UP LEADERSHIP ALIGNED WITH GLOBAL CORPORATIONS.

Mission:

The League of Women Voters,

a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Watch the MPT/LWVMD Republican and Democratic Gubernatorial Debates On-Line

The one-hour debates between Republicans Ron George, Larry Hogan, Charles Lollar, David Craig and Democrats Anthony Brown, Doug Gansler, Heather Mizeur can be seen at http://www.mpt.org/debate/

Below you see what the most pressing issue in Maryland is-----fraud and corruption and not one political organization, justice organization, or candidate mentions it-----and if that candidate does----they are censured.  Remember, these frauds hit women and children the hardest----people of color as well so if an advocacy group is not making this their top issue in selecting a candidate to endorse----THEY HAVE LEADERS WORKING WITH NEO-LIBERALS.

THE CANDIDATES IN MARYLAND MAKING OVERSIGHT AND ACCOUNTABILITY AND PUBLIC JUSTICE CENTRAL---WHO SHOUT OUT AGAINST GLOBAL CORPORATIONS IN THEIR PLATFORM ARE THE ONES NOT INCLUDED IN THESE ELECTION EVENTS.

It's important to know that neo-conservatives are the same as neo-liberals and this is why the right has created the Tea Party.  Labor and justice are still at opposites with Tea Party in many ways, but we both know that global corporations are killing our democracy and US Constitutional rights.  Here in Maryland all pols are working for global corporations------ and we are taking the democratic party back to the people.  The reason republican voters are just as mad at neo-cons is that the economy of today is not free-market----is is naked/crony capitalism---- the opposite of free-market and George Bush is equally responsible for it as Clinton and now Obama.

For those thinking Heather Mizeur is not a neo-liberal----why is she in every forum and not speaking to any of the issues my campaign brings forward?  She has talking points.

No matter your political stance everyone knows that the corporate and government systems are full of fraud and corruption and this is the crony of naked capitalism-----no regulation---no oversight or accountability.  The US Constitution is built on Rule of Law and Equal Protection so none of what is happening is legal.

Below you see the goal of neo-liberalism-----third world status for even the formerly first world Western nations.
Neo-cons/neo-libs = third world society.  Clinton is the face of neo-liberalism as he dismantled all of the protections against corporate power knowing it would end democracy and our rights as citizens.  Bush ran with it----and Obama is now protecting the massive movement of wealth to the top mostly through systemic corporate fraud.

'WE SEE NO FRAUD' SAY NEO-CONS AND NEO-LIBERALS BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE NO RIGHTS OF PROTECTION.

Global Capitalism, Third World Development:

Is the Sweat Shop the Destination or
the start of a Take Off into Self-Sustained Growth?

In a deregulated world, the sweat shop is not a step on the road to 'economic development', it is the destination of most Third World people who aspire to Western-style economic development.

Western economic forces, given free rein, lead to people living lives of borderline starvation, of endemic poverty, with the few who control access to finance and resources, or who can become involved in international corporate activity, able to maintain wealthy lifestyles 43.

Neo-liberalism is dead as people realise markets need regulation

Remind Me Again How Neo-Cons Are ''Conservatives''

... by Josh Robinson Posted September 03, 2012

_________________________________________________

CINDY WALSH CREATED CITIZENS OVERSIGHT MARYLAND-----MARYLAND PROGRESSIVES SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I SAW MARYLAND PROGRESSIVE AND OTHER PROGRESSIVE GROUPS WERE CONTROLLED BY NEO-LIBERALS.

THERE IS NOTHING PROGRESSIVE ABOUT NEO-LIBERALISM.

Each election since I moved to Maryland I have had to watch as groups calling themselves 'progressive' all back the most neo-liberal of candidates.  There is not a person in Maryland that does not know Anthony Brown is O'Malley and O'Malley is Clinton and all are neo-liberals.  EVERYONE KNOWS THIS.  There is nothing progressive about neo-liberalism----it is autocratic and repressive so when people try to call a neo-liberal progressive----THEY KNOW THEY ARE NOT SPEAKING TRUE.

THE REASON BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR POLLED AT NEAR 10% THROUGHOUT THESE PRIMARIES IS THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THEY ARE NEO-LIBERALS.  IT TOOK A BOGUS POLL TO MOVE THOSE POLLING NUMBERS UP----AND THESE GROUPS KNOW THAT.

Every year Progressive Maryland chooses neo-liberals as their choice and never mention the main problems in Maryland----dismantled public justice, no oversight and accountability, and global corporate control of our economy----and never shout against an election system rife with violations.

NEO-LIBERALISM IS NEVER PROGRESSIVE FOLKS!

PROGRESSIVE MARYLAND & ELECTIONS

Progressive Maryland exists to advocate for and improve the lives of working families in Maryland and reduce income inequality. In order to accomplish our goal of turning progressive legislation into progressive laws, we need legislators who share our values. This means Progressive Maryland must actively engage in the political process to ensure the most effective, most progressive legislators are sworn in. For more than a decade, our organization has worked hard to achieve electoral success. We examine closely the records of candidates for office, get to know them, educate them on our issues, and obtain their commitment through candidate questionnaires to support measures we intend to push for in the upcoming legislative sessions. We endorse candidates who are authentically supportive of working families, promote their candidacies, and aggressively work to get them elected. In some cases, we go door-to-door in priority races, and we work the polls on Election Day. Engaging in the process in this fashion ensures that elected officials will be accessible to us and allow us every opportunity to present our perspective on priorities. It also helps to guarantee the votes we need to make Maryland a leader among progressive states. Our track record speaks for itself. In 2010, 90 percent of candidates we endorsed won election. In 2006, we helped elect over 90 endorsed candidates.

OUR ENDORSEMENT PROCESS

All candidates registered with the Board of Elections are emailed at the address listed with the State Board of Elections an invitation to seek Progressive Maryland’s endorsement, with a link to our electronic questionnaire. Completed questionnaires for all candidates are made available to Progressive Maryland Board members prior to recommendations being made, and copies of the completed questionnaires for all candidates are posted online on the Progressive Maryland website. Before ProgressiveMaryland employs our organizational resources to support candidates, we apply rigorous standards for our endorsement process based on more than a decade of on-the-ground electoral experience. An endorsement requires supermajority 2/3 support of our board of directors. We take into account the level of support for ProgressiveMaryland's full range of priority issues and how they have translated their support with action in their communities.
For incumbents, we consider an individual's voting record and their leadership on passing legislation and advancing key policies that improve the lives of working families. We also weigh viability by examining objective metrics of public support for a candidate.Progressive Maryland’s final candidate recommendations are posted online, as soon as the recommendation process is completed. To view the completed questionnaires for every candidate who applied for our endorsement, visit: http://progressivemaryland.org/endorsements/2014/Have any other questions about Progressive Maryland’s endorsement process?

Please do not hesitate to contact Kate Planco Waybright at kate@progressivemaryland.org

As I said----neo-liberals know they are killing all of the public justice and equal protection and that largely hits people of color and women so they are deliberately giving this push the face of the very people hurt most by it.  This is why we had Obama and now they are gearing up for Hillary.  Hillary will be sold as the woman's candidate----the glass ceiling breaker as Obama was but we know both Obama and Hillary are the face of neo-liberalism and Trans Pacific Trade Pact (TPP).

Remember, in Maryland it was Cummings, Sarbanes (Sr), Cardin, and Hoyer that voted with Clinton for NAFTA and breaking the Glass Steagall wall to create this global market and corporations.  They did it knowing these corporations would become unaccountable and take over our democracy.  Well, this next Presidential election is about bringing neo-liberalism full circle with Hillary bringing in TPP.

Note the long list of women in Congress supporting Hillary and neo-liberalism.  That is what is reflected by Maryland's women and justice organizations doing the same.

IF YOUR JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS ARE PRETENDING HILLARY IS ABOUT SENDING A WOMAN TO BREAK A GLASS CEILING ------THEY NEED TO GO!

The politicians below are not progressives-----they are neo-liberals!

WHAT IS A 'VIABLE' CANDIDATE IN MARYLAND?  WHAT CONSTITUTES 'DAMAGE' TO A CAMPAIGN?  THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED IN A FEDERAL COURT CASE AGAINST RIGGED ELECTIONS IN MARYLAND.  THE VIOLATIONS ARE SO STARK THAT PROOF OF VIOLATIONS WILL BE EASY.

FOR 80% OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY----LABOR AND JUSTICE----WE HAVE WATCHED OVER TWO DECADES WHILE GLOBAL CORPORATE NEO-LIBERALS WON ELECTIONS AT EVERY LEVEL-----MY ELECTION RUN SHOWS WHY!

IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IT IS THE MARYLAND ATTORNEY GENERAL THAT SHOULD BE SUPPORTING CINDY WALSH IN MY CASE BEFORE THE FEDERAL COURT FOR THESE ELECTION VIOLATIONS-----BUT DOUG GANSLER IS TOO BUSY PARTICIPATING IN THE VERY SYSTEM THAT IS BREAKING THESE LAWS.  IT'S CALLED BANANA REPUBLIC POLITICS.

I want to focus on one media outlet in Maryland because it is the face of election rigging and the staff make no bones about it.  The problem is doubled when that media outlet takes on a status of 'public' radio when in fact it is run by Johns Hopkins and Hopkins is a corporation.  WYPR is a corporate radio station receiving public money and it overtly skews election coverage in the favor of the global corporate economy and protection of the massive fraud and corruption in the state----driven by Johns Hopkins.

This morning Frazer Smith-----WYPR's political 'analyst' gave us yet another totally meaningless poll on the governor's race----this time the Washington Post.  The Post had to lower the standards of that poll so much just to have any polling in this governor's race-------7% and 11% margin of error for democrat and republican----that it now calls into question if the Baltimore Sun poll even really used a 4.4% margin of error in its poll.  Remember, it costs very little and takes very few people to conduct a real scientific polling event.  A handful of people working for a few hours can call a thousand people randomly to meet the requirements of an evidence-based poll.  When media has to skew these standards to such a degree.....moving the republican candidates higher by 11% for example if the error is on the negative side------the democratic candidates by as much as 7% shows no movement in candidates in the governor's race at all.  They are deliberately moving the margin of error----added to non-random cohort of people polled to give a GREAT BIG PROPAGANDA SHOW AS ELECTION POLLING.    If a media outlet allows this kind of information on its program-----you are listening or reading a news outlets that has no journalism.

Let's return to the next problem that comes from an election filled with people no one wants to vote for---creating the environment of people not wanting to vote.

AS WYPR LITERALLY SHOUTED TO ALL LISTENERS----IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE CANDIDATES WE PLACE IN FRONT OF YOU----DON'T VOTE.

That is indeed the goal of these captured elections---to frustrate voters to the point of apathy as exists in Baltimore, they are now extending it statewide.  Then elections will be third world where people are paid to come to the polls to make it look like a candidate has the people's support.  This is Baltimore's election process.  All of those millions of dollars  in social services and the threats of closing senior centers or pushing small businesses out of business-----real Tammany Hall politics.-----that are used to get people to the polls for the captured candidate.  If you think for one minute that my campaign would not be the front-runner had I received just a small percentage of media and 501c3 coverage-----required by law----you do not know the stakes of this 2014 election for governor.

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING IN THIS ELECTION AND CINDY WALSH FOR GOVERNOR WILL TAKE THIS TO FEDERAL COURT AS OVERT ELECTION RIGGING.

Let's look at the court case that Maryland media and 501c3s think will be their defense and which I will use as my own:

In 1998, the US Supreme Court ruled in Arkansas Educational Television Commission vs Forbes that government-owned public broadcast stations may also exclude candidates from debates, as long as the decision to exclude candidates is not based on their views, but rather on their viability-----often determined by the percentage of voters that may support the candidate.  The court ruled that the Arkansas Educational Television Commission was permitted to invite only major party candidates, or candidates with 'strong popular support' to participate in its 1992 presidential debate.  Since then, candidates from Ross Perot and Jesse Ventura have fought for access to these media forums and won.

You see where the words used most in Maryland media in their rights to exclude----a campaign is not viable or only major party candidates need be included.  Only, none of the vehicles they would use to determine these criteria are valid and openly skew these determinations.  I want to point out as well that Arkansas if Clinton country and you see it was Clinton's public media outlet fighting to limit access to elections and this was in 1998.  So, Clinton was back then setting the stage that would be used by neo-liberals to silence 80% of the democratic base---labor and justice.

The other piece with this ruling is that it is directed at third party candidates and not campaigns within party races.  So, Maryland media is very careful to include all republican candidates in election coverage no matter the campaign money raised or polling data because-------that is how election coverage must meet the standard of doing no damage to a candidate's campaign.  They ignore these same standards because they think no one will contest this----largely because the Maryland Democratic Central Committees are captured by O'Malley/Johns Hopkins political machines-----right now Maggie McIntosh heads the state democratic party.  So, it is this democratic structure that should be fighting for the right of all democratic candidates to be heard.  Since neo-liberals do not want labor and justice heard----the natural protector becomes the one violating these laws the most.
So, to allow all republican candidates, most not polling at all, into all election discussion places the requirement that all candidates receive the same treatment.  To pretend that Brown, Gansler, and Mizeur are major candidates with polling around 10% is not defensible and all Maryland media outlets----especially the 501c3 ones know this!

Remember, this is a FCC ruling-----looking only at media outlets.

THIS IS WHY THE CLINTON MACHINE/NEO-LIBERALS HAVE CONTINUED TO HOLD ELECTION CONTROL ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND IT ALL INVOLVES ELECTION VIOLATIONS AND RIGGING.

Citation. 523 U.S. 666, 118 S. Ct. 1633, 140 L. Ed. 2d 875, 1998 U.S.

Brief Fact Summary.

Forbes (Petitioner) was running for political office and was denied the opportunity to participate in a television debate.

Synopsis of Rule of Law. The First Amendment does not compel public broadcasters to provide access to programming for third parties.

Facts. Arkansas Educational Television Commission (Respondent) decided to broadcast a political debate amongst the top congressional candidates. One hour was allotted for the debate in a question and answer format. Respondent acquired enough signatures to be on the ballot after Petitioner issued the initial invites. Respondent requested that he be allowed to participate, but Petitioner still refused.

Issue. Because the government owned the television station was it obligated to open the debate to all candidates?

What 501c3s must adhere to are the IRS laws regarding non-profits and how they may or may not participate in elections.  This does indeed overlap the 501c3 media events as well and I believe it is this law below that has all the Maryland major venues including all the republican candidates in forums and debates-----

THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DAMAGE ANY ONE CANDIDATE'S CAMPAIGN WHILE PARTICIPATING IN ELECTIONS.

This is pretty cut and dry----keeping Cindy Walsh from all of the early 501c3 events and media coverage is what keeps a candidate from being viable----it is not that their platform was not viable.  The actions of those participating in Maryland elections makes the candidate unviable-----not the voters choosing not to support the platform.  Now, is the Federal Court so corrupt as to look beyond so many election violations and systemic corruption of Maryland election system as some tell me will be the case?

IT WILL BE REALLY, REALLY HARD FOR ANY FEDERAL JUDGE TO RULE AGAINST MY COMPLAINTS ------THE APPEARANCE OF CORRUPTION WILL BE UNMISTAKABLE.

We must get these court cases on record so that when Rule of Law is rebuilt----we will have the cases established.

Violations of the election law requiring 501c3 organizations to invite all candidates to debates or forums as the only way to eliminate bias or showing opposition to another candidate.

What Does "Participating in a Political Campaign" Mean?
Organizations with 501(c)(3) status cannot participate in political campaigns.

What is a political campaign? In general, the IRS rule refers to campaigns between people who are running for offices in public elections. These can include: candidates running for president of the U.S.; candidates running for governor; candidates running for mayor; and also candidates for lower elected offices such as school board officials, city supervisors, and county trustees.

What is "participating?" Your organization cannot participate in a campaign, directly or indirectly, on behalf of or in opposition to a candidate. If your organization takes a stand in any campaign, supporting or opposing one or another candidate, this violates the prohibition.

I want to look at the 'only 3 candidates in the democratic race for governor' per the establishment----Brown, Gansler, and Mizeur-----and then look at the other 3 democratic candidates left out-----Walsh, Smith, and Jaffe.  I am only representing myself in this election, but it is good to see why these 3 candidates are selected out of the race----AND IT IS INDEED THEIR PLATFORM.

EDUCATION-----BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR ALL SUPPORT THIS EDUCATION REFORM, ERGO, THEY ARE 'VIABLE'.

The citizens of Baltimore will note that neo-liberal O'Malley and neo-conservative Johns Hopkins brought to the city a new school superintendent----or CEO----a candidate from Milwaukee----home of education privatization on steroids. This report shows you how bad this system in Milwaukee has become and I want to be clear-----this will not only be for poor students-----it will take all of public schools. Remember, the goal of TPP is to kill the middle-class and move everyone to the status of poor!

Report: Charters Creating Two-Tier Education

Tuesday, 10 June 2014 11:26 By Samantha Winslow, Labor Notes | Report

As an antidote to the “grow grow grow” mentality of the elected officials and business leaders pushing charter schools, a recent report by University of Oregon professor and political economist Gordon Lafer outlines what’s wrong with privatization of public schools.

The report, titled Do Poor Kids Deserve Lower-Quality Education than Rich Kids? Evaluating School Privatization Proposals in Milwaukee, focuses on the model of Rocketship, a national charter elementary school organization that hopes to expand its Milwaukee footprint to eight schools by 2018.

City officials have even considered carving out the lowest-performing parts of the city’s schools for charters to operate, similar to the New Orleans “recovery district.” Milwaukee’s Chamber of Commerce and Democratic Mayor Tom Barrett are among the charter chain’s supporters, raising millions to help it grow.

Rocketship’s investors, who are tech industry heavyweights, claim altruistic intentions: they care about the kids! But they’re also profiting from the expansion of charter schools, a market for their own products and services.

Case in point: Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, on the board of Rocketship, is also an investor in a company called Dream Box, which runs software the schools use for math applications. In the public sector this type of self-dealing is often prohibited, because schools should be choosing the service or product with the best track record, not the one that will enrich investors.

So it’s no surprise that businessmen like Hastings find investing in charters much more appealing than paying more taxes to support public schools.

Two-Tier Schools

Lafer points out that the charter companies’ self-proclaimed cutting-edge learning models offer anything but advanced instruction.

In Rocketship’s “blended learning,” for instance, students learn basic literacy and math with an emphasis on test preparation, receiving online instruction in the schools’ computer labs. Other academic subjects, arts, and music are left out of this education model.

The teachers at such schools are often inexperienced, with an average 30 percent teacher turnover from year to year—twice the Milwaukee school district average. A non-union workforce is part of the incentive for school districts to switch to charters, though some charter teachers have begun to unionize.

50 to 1

While it claims a 29 to 1 student-teacher ratio, which includes non-certified, lower-paid instructors, Rocketship has actually redesigned its instructional model, shifting the ratio closer to 50 to 1. Company leaders explained bluntly that they were changing the schools’ structure to extract more money for expansion.

Even as they skimp on teachers and dumb down the curriculum, Rocketship and other charters brag of their mission to serve low-income black and Latino students. In reality they are further segregating America’s schools, creating two tiers: one for the affluent, where students get exposure to the arts, languages, sports, and one-on-one instruction, and the other where they are taught the basics, and spend most of their time in front of a computer.

At the 60-year anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education, separate is still not equal. Lafer proposes that all schools receiving taxpayer money be subject to the same accountability and transparency, and that they be governed democratically, such as by elected school boards where parents and community can have oversight.

ENVIRONMENT----BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR WILL ALLOW GLOBAL CORPORATE ENERGY TO CONTROL THE STATE AND WILL TURN AN EYE TO GROWING ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTERS LIKE THE PORT OF BALTIMORE.....ERGO, THEY ARE 'VIABLE'.

'UNTIL CERTAIN CONDITIONS ARE MET'------Oh, Mizeur is not against fracking-----she is just pretending to be!

Sen. Ron Young (D-Frederick) and Del. Heather Mizeur (D-Montgomery) have introduced the Shale Gas Drilling Safety Review Act this session “to ensure our communities get the answers they deserve and to ensure the General Assembly has a say in the ultimate decision,” Young said in the release.

The legislation would prohibit MDE from issuing a permit for fracking of a well for the exploration or production of natural gas until specified conditions are met.

HEALTH CARE----BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR ALL SUPPORT THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT AND THE MOST PRIVATE, PROFIT-DRIVEN STATE HEALTH SYSTEM IN THE NATION......ERGO, THEY ARE 'VIABLE'.

Thanks for this acknowledgement that Gansler, Brown, and Mizeur are not progressive on health care as they pretend. Remember, neo-liberalism is never progressive....the Maryland exchange is one of the most private, profit driven in the nation with most people in Maryland falling into Medicaid and Bronze----preventative care.  Consider over 80% of Marylanders falling into this Medicaid-level care at the same time Medicaid has been gutted of funding and is being made into a third world clinic care model.  Longevity will drop dramatically in one generation with these draconian health policies.

Let's be clear----Brown is already pushing the Connecticut health system to replace this failed Maryland system.  Connecticut is home of all the insurance corporations behind this health care reform. So, Brown is going to 'look' at the Vermont model?  OH, REALLY??????

BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR----BUILDING THE STRUCTURES FOR ENDING PUBLIC EDUCATION, PUBLIC HEALTH, AND HANDING ALL THAT IS PUBLIC OVER TO CORPORATE CONTROL AND THIS MAKES THEM 'VIABLE'.

Candidates for Governor Respond to Survey; Walsh Supports Single-payer
June 10, 2014

Responding to a Healthcare-Now! of Maryland health care survey, gubernatorial candidates Del. Heather Mizeur, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Cindy Walsh all indicated that they believed that health care was a basic human right.  They all agreed that it was the responsibility of the state to ensure that all Marylanders received the health care they need. There were differences, however, regarding a single-system.

Neither Brown nor Mizeur would say that they favored a single-payer system and that they would support single-payer legislation and, if passed, sign it into law.  Only Walsh unequivocally supported single-payer calling for “expanded and improved Medicare for all”.  In his response, Brown expressed support for universal healthcare and the Affordable Care Act.  He indicated that he would be watching the experience of Vermont’s Green Mountain Care single-payer model as he considered options to build a better Maryland.  Mizeur favored studying a single-payer system.   If it was shown to be fiscally responsible, she would push for passage of single-payer after 2017 when the federal government allows for innovation waivers.

The health care survey was sent to all of the candidates from both parties running in the June 24th primary.

THIS CANDIDATE IS 'NOT VIABLE'!

Ralph Jaffe for governor

April 26, 2010

My name is Ralph Jaffe. I am a political science teacher. When I first started teaching in 1964 I told my students that Maryland was one of the most corrupt states in the Union. Fast forward to 2010 - nothing has changed. This is why I am now a candidate for governor in the September 2010 Democratic primary. I want to put a stop to the moral bankruptcy in Maryland politics and replace it with a new word, ETHICS.

My platform is based on 5 principles.

#1 - I will not accept campaign contributions because they are disguised bribes.

#2 - I will have no dealings with paid professional lobbyists.

#3 - I will serve one term only. This way I'm not in the campaign for power, fame, or personal wealth, but rather I want to be a good public servant.

#4 - I will tell the truth all of the time, not some of the time.

#5 - I will serve free. I will set aside the $150,000 annual salary of the governor for the purpose of trying to hire a combination of three teachers, firefighters and/or police officers.

These 5 principles must be adhered to if we are ever going to get true, ethical politicians. I am not a politician; rather, I am a teacher. Electing me as the next governor in the state of Maryland would mark a major step in the movement to compel future politicians to comply with the above stated principles.

Yes - thisi s a peaceful revolution to get rid of money and corruption out of politics. I'm asking you to join this movement and make this goal a reality. Please call me at 410-764-2409 and help bring about true, ethical reform in our political system.

Charles U. Smith for governor

Charles is a perennial candidate but his message is very relevant especially these days-----he is a strong advocate for the Veterans Administration and veterans health care.  This is his primary policy issue and he speaks very knowledgeably of the changes to the VA that is leading to the decline in care.  Maryland leads in dismantling VA and the worst record in VA operations so......

THIS CANDIDATE IS NOT 'VIABLE'

Both Harris and Mikulski knows that the VA in Maryland is being dismantled and the doctors have been outsourced to private health facilities with this health care reform.  The goal in Maryland is to end the public health care with the VA and simply send them to the state health system where they will be categorized as Medicaid-level care.  It is a huge thing to work to deny health coverage to veterans and neo-liberals and neo-cons are a tag team in dismantling the VA and sending veterans into these private state health systems
.  Having to listen to these pols lie over and over is just what third world nations with manufactured 'elections' do.

Sen. Mikulski and Rep. Harris React to More Veterans Affairs Findings June 10, 2014 By Dagger News Service

MIKULSKI EXPRESSES OUTRAGE ABOUT VA FINDINGS DETAILING ORGANIZATIONAL FAILURES RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYING VETERANS ACCESS TO CARE

From the office of U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski:

U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) today expressed outrage on the findings of an audit by the Veterans Administration (VA) detailing organizational failure and dysfunction within the VA that has led to lengthy delays in veterans’ access to health treatment and care:

“I am outraged at this colossal organization failure at VA which has put lip service ahead of the health and well-being of our veterans. We must get to the bottom of delay and denial at the VA.

“When it comes to Maryland, this report outlines both good news and bad news. The bad news is that the average wait time for new primary care patients is 81 days. This is unacceptable and clearly shows that more must be done. The good news for Maryland contained within this report is that for existing VA patients, the wait time to see a doctor is as low as four days. Additionally, the audit did not find any evidence of wrongdoing or deceptive or duplicitous behavior on the part of employees in Baltimore.

“This week I will vote in the Senate to pass bipartisan legislation introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders and John McCain that makes a significant down payment on reforms needed to address this crisis immediately. Our veterans who have fought on the front line shouldn’t have to stand in line for the care and benefits they have earned and deserve.”

The Veterans’ Access to Care Through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014, legislation introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and supported by Senator Mikulski, would address patient wait times at hospitals and improve accountability at the Veterans Affairs administration. Specifically, the legislation would give veterans access to private doctors, community health centers, Department of Defense medical facilities and facilities funded by the Indian Health Service. It would allow veterans living more than 40 miles from a VA hospital or clinic to access more convenient private care.

The bill also would provide for the hiring of new medical personnel in an expedited manner at hospitals and clinics that lack enough doctors, nurses and other medical staff to provide quality care in a timely manner and ensures dedicated funding is available to hire health care professionals. And at a time when new construction is needed for VA health care around the country, this legislation allows VA to lease 26 new medical facilities that would expand access to care.

In addition to these provisions, this bill would allow the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs to terminate senior VA employees for poor performance. This would also require the Secretary to provide Congress a justification for any removal within 30 days and offers terminated employees the ability to appeal to the Merit System Protection Board within seven days of termination, providing them the protections from retaliation and discrimination they deserve.

Lastly, the bill takes another step in ensuring our service members are prepare for their transition to civilian life by requiring public higher institutions to give veterans residing in their state in-state tuition while using the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

In May, Senator Mikulski used her oversight position as Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee to call on Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate and potential criminal wrongdoing. A copy of that letter is available here.

Rep. Andy Harris Releases Statement in Response to New Department of Veterans Affairs Audit

Audit Says VA Maryland Health Care System Has Fourth-Longest Average Wait Time for New Patient Primary Care

From the office of Congressman Andy Harris:

Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., a Navy veteran and physician who worked in both the military and veteran health systems, has released the following statement in response to news that the VA Maryland Health Care System has the fourth-longest average wait time for new patient primary care, according to a new nationwide Department of Veterans Affairs audit. The audit, released today, found that the Maryland system, which includes the Baltimore and Perry Point VA hospitals as well as the Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center, had an average wait time of 81 days for new patients. The wait is more than five times the 14 days the VA had set as guidelines for patients to see a doctor.

“The report is no surprise, as the number-one complaint my case workers receive is problems with the veterans’ administration. Wait times of this length are completely unacceptable, which is why we need to allow our high-priority veterans to opt out of a failed veteran health system.”

HELLO EVERYONE,

I BLOG ON WEEKDAYS AND USE WEEKENDS TO TALK ABOUT ACTIONS----ALTHOUGH DURING THE ELECTIONS I WILL TALK ABOUT MARYLAND'S RIGGED ELECTION SYSTEM.

THIS DISCUSSION ON ELECTIONS IS RELEVANT TO ALL STATES IN THE US BECAUSE THIS IS HAPPENING IN YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS.

Who is your pol pledging allegiance to in a corporate state?  Maryland is becoming a corporate state.
SEC. 9. Every person elected, or appointed, to any office of profit or trust, under this Constitution, or under the Laws, made pursuant thereto, shall, before he enters upon the duties of such office, take and subscribe the following oath, or affirmation: I, _______________, do swear, (or affirm, as the case may be,) that I will support the Constitution of the United States; and that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of Maryland, and support the Constitution and Laws thereof; and that I will, to the best of my skill and judgment, diligently and faithfully, without partiality or prejudice, execute the office of________________, according to the Constitution and Laws of this State, (and, if a Governor, Senator, Member of the House of Delegates, or Judge,) that I will not directly or indirectly, receive the profits or any part of the profits of any other office during the term of my acting as___________ (originally Article I, sec. 6, renumbered by Chapter 681, Acts of 1977, ratified Nov. 7, 1978).

I am pleased to be invited and participate in events all across Maryland because people do know election law and follow it.  When the larger venues openly flaunt the law----it is a step to break down the process because of course if breaking the law is allowed----no one follows the law....which is the point. If public media and public universities are allowed to break law why should the smaller 501c3/4 follow law?  If the Maryland Attorney General tasked with enforcing election law actively participates in a process he knows is breaking the law----

WE NO LONGER HAVE EQUAL PROTECTION AND RULE OF LAW.

So, any organization that says it is labor and justice that is not shouting this or participates in breaking these election laws----do not have leaders working for the good of the people.  They are captured leaders and we need to get rid of them or that organization by creating a community group
.  Here in Baltimore I listen to WYPR---a Johns Hopkins and WEAA of Morgan State University 'public' media stations openly say-----'there are only 3 democratic candidates in this governor's race and none of them are from Baltimore' referring over and over to the hand-picked corporate pols they want to be sure to have elected.  I am the governor's candidate from Baltimore City so they are openly lying on public media.

THIS IS ILLEGAL AND IT IS DONE TO DAMAGE MY CANDIDACY.

Is my campaign viable?  Of course it is-----everybody loves it and wants it whether democrat or republican.  So, making elections about campaign war chests and which union backs you rather than the platform is how they are excluding people's candidates.  Labor unions in Maryland are backing the most Wall Street and global corporate candidates in these races.

Keep in mind that Brown is Bill Clinton and Clinton is the face of NAFTA, TPP, and global corporate rule and markets that killed labor, justice, and democracy in America.  Keep in mind these are international unions now supporting global corporations and seeing themselves as global unions dismantling our US Constitution.  Unions taking on the corporate structure rather than allowing unions to remain locally controlled.  So, as the democratic party was taken corporate with Clinton, the groups working for labor and justice went with Clinton and globalization.

THEY ALL KNOW THAT NEO-LIBERALISM WILL END IN TOTALITARIANISM.

This can change immediately if union members elect new leadership.

  1. Brown to win first labor endorsement for in 2014 race for ...www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/brown-to-win...   CachedAnthony Brown kicks off his campaign for Maryland governor in ... is slated to pick up the first endorsement from a labor union in Maryland’s 2014 gubernatorial ...The Laborers’ International Union of North America Mid-Atlantic Region

  2. Anthony G. Brown picks up AFL-CIO endorsement - Baltimore Sunarticles.baltimoresun.com/2013-10-26/news/bs-md-brown...   Cached... voted to back him. Fred Mason, president of the union, ... Brown is a proven fighter for Maryland's hard ... union support. The Maryland State ..

Cindy Walsh for Governor is documenting all of these election issues and sending them to the Maryland Election Commission demanding immediate relief as they are the protector of free and fair elections.  When I am told that these violations are Federal Laws and have nothing to do with the state election commission----as though the state is not responsible for holding the Federal government to enforcing Rule of Law-----
I say, OH REALLY??????

Of course it depends on who is appointed to these public positions as to whether they SELECTIVELY ENFORCE LAW  -----which is not Rule of Law and Equal Protection.

Maryland election laws are left deliberately vague and the laws overseeing media are non-existent.  This is why Leopold in Annapolis was let off with little consequence for not only tearing down his opponent's campaign signs all over the voting district but having a paid police officer break this law----it is outrageous that he was not convicted in a way that would keep him from running for office again, as he is.

THE MARYLAND ASSEMBLY DELIBERATELY ALLOWS STATE ELECTION LAWS TO BE WRITTEN VAGUELY SO AS NOT TO BE ABLE TO CONVICT AND THE MARYLAND ELECTIONS COMMISSION DELIBERATELY IGNORED FEDERAL ELECTION LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Keep in mind EVERYONE knows that 501c3/4 organizations are required to invite all candidates to an election event.  WE KNOW THAT IS THE LAW.  So, when agencies tasked with protecting our civil rights IGNORES these laws 'interpreting' them differently, you have people appointed by an administration tasked with skirting Rule of Law.  This happens whether a republican or a democrat is elected in Maryland and is what makes Maryland politics CRONY.

We see below it is the Maryland Election Commission charged with seeing Federal Election Laws are followed and that local election boards are doing their jobs monitoring elections.  So, Baltimore being ground zero for election rigging----fails to uphold laws with the state's blessing.

As we see below, it is the Maryland Assembly Senate that helps to choose and then approve appointments.  This is Senate Leader Mike Miller.  So, Mike pushes an appointment through the Senate and the citizens get public officials appointed who then ignore Rule of Law.

Below that you see the Maryland Assembly committees that choose/approve appointees and low and behold-----

Below you see the people allowing these appointments of people to important public office that they know create this suspended Rule of Law.  They are appointed by Mike Miller and Mike Busch to these committees to do just that.  THIS IS THE CRONY IN MARYLAND POLITICS.

As important is Brian Frosh----the front-runner for Maryland Attorney General is a key player in these appointments.  See why Maryland Attorney General's ignore these laws and in Doug Gansler's case openly participate in the violation of law?

Today I want to visit Baltimore in particular because it is the largest voting sector in the state----and is absolutely captured.  Let's look at the system of private non-profits Johns Hopkins has put into place to assure only their policies are implemented.  Keep in mind, this is the same strategy they use overseas working as NGOs in nations they supposedly are developing and we see it always ends badly for those nations.  It always is fused with fraud and corruption as it is in Baltimore.  If you want to know what happens in Afghanistan with development and 'democracy building'----look at Baltimore.

Baltimore is completely captured by a system of private non-profits that took over after Baltimore Development Corporation and Johns Hopkins dismantled and defunded the public sector so they could control all public policy.  City Hall now works for them and this is why there is systemic fraud and corruption in Baltimore.  Baltimore is operated as a third world society.  My campaign and platform is all about rebuilding the very structures needed to reverse this third world approach to first world and this is why my campaign is censured throughout this private non-profit system.  I am not invited or allowed to speak at most of these non-profit event or to become a member in most cases.  In the case of elections----we all know----all candidates for an office must be invited to forums and debates if a 501c3/4 is involved.  THAT IS THE LAW-----THERE IS NO 'INTERPRETATION' IN RULE OF LAW.

The MD IAF Gubernatorial Accountability Forum will bring together leaders from BUILD (Baltimore City and County) and sister Industrial Areas Foundation organizations PATH (Howard Co) and AIM (Montgomery Co) on Wed., May 14 from 7 to 9 PM @ St. Matthews Catholic Church, 5401 Loch Raven Blvd., Baltimore 21239.

These organizations are national private non-profits all coming with a pre-conceived agenda written by corporations.  They come to localities acting as if they are working for the public when they simply come to install an agenda.  They pretend to solicit ideas from public meetings and then simply report what the member groups say.  Absolutely no public comment contrary to their agenda is ever included or mentioned outside these breakout groups.  The problems in Baltimore are fraud, corruption, and waste of public money. If a group does not address this there is no foundation from which to build.  NONE OF THESE PRIVATE NON-PROFITS EVER ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS SO NONE OF THESE AGENDAS LAST.  PUBLIC MONEY IS ROUTED OVER AND OVER TO THESE NGOs AND NO PROGRESS IS EVER MADE.

This is how you leave an area in third world disarray and it is done deliberately for creating instability.  Now, the middle-class is soaked with taxes and fees to support this system and have to live with a city filled with injustice all so Johns Hopkins can maintain control of public policy and instability.  Mind you, this is not a democrat or republican thing----these pols working for Hopkins are not democrats and a republican candidate would do the same.  It is the capture of politics that is the problem.  Republican voters hate this as much as democratic voters.  So, we need to shout out against this crony structure and shake the corporate pols from all party politics.

Baltimore has had several major Gubernatorial events most attached to 510c3/4s and none inviting all the candidates----especially Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland.

I went to an organizing event termed 'a people's solution' to reform.  The first thing you notice is none of the people at the event know my campaign and I have sent plenty of literature about my campaign.  Yet they are advocating for justice of every sort.  These are the groups in Baltimore that would be my biggest supporters and yet-----silence.  All are staffed with people geared to global markets as inevitable even as they shout for the 99% and against global markets. So, no doubt they will support Heather Mizeur and a campaign connected to Wall Street and building structures for global corporate rule.  How does an organization like Citizens Oversight Maryland not be part of a panel in such justice-building events----ever?

I want to be clear----an injustice for one will become injustice for all as we see now---we are losing our democracy because of this expanding structure and now the middle-class is losing its rights as citizens.  Global corporate tribunal rule ends
for EVERYONE democracy and our rights as citizens.

The few people from communities are generally paid a stipend to do so.

THIS IS THE CAPTURE OF BALTIMORE.

When election-time comes it is the duty of these private non-profits to make sure that only the establishment pols and agenda get to the people they serve and this is why City Hall is made up of pols working for Baltimore Development Corporation and Johns Hopkins and the city is rife with fraud and corruption.

These private non-profits are infused with university students and grads forced to serve in this system that takes away their ability to go straight to a career and they all are trained with the notion that the public sector is bad and people need to engage in the work in communities and not paid city employees.  They are victims of dogma just as any generation but I always educate as to the fact that baby boomers and a strong public sector created the conditions for the thriving first world society in US history moving more of the poor to the middle-class in US history.  So, it is the proven social model that these youth never here about in corporatized universities.

Keep in mind Brown is Clinton's candidate and this is why he is chosen front-runner.  Gansler is the attorney general that suspends Rule of Law to enrich the corporations that donate to his campaign war chest.  Gansler is all about aiding and abetting crime and he is the media darling.  Both are the most Wall Street and corporate of candidates pushing GLOBAL CORPORATE policies in Maryland.  Republican and democratic voters are led to believe these are democrats pushing these repressive issues.  So, democratic voters are being pushed to vote republican to escape these bad public policies and republican voters do not understand these bad policies were written by conservative republican think tanks.

ERGO, THE CAPTURE.  NOT ONE POLITICAL OR SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATION IN MARYLAND EDUCATES PEOPLE AS TO THIS! IT DOES NOT MATTER FOR WHICH PARTY YOU VOTE----ALL THESE POLICIES WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH WALL STREET POLS CAPTURING BOTH PARTIES!

Anthony Brown has been in the media thousands of times in just these several months so needs no campaign advertizing.....the media is selling him as hard as they can.  This is why Americans keep voting for the very people killing them and democracy.
I contend that the 54% undecided are waiting to hear from Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland.

This article describes over and again 2 candidates in a field of 6 democratic candidates----a a forum by 501c3/4s that are required to invite all candidates to an event.

Maryland's Obamacare Stumble Fails To Sway Governor's Race
by NPR

April 25, 2014 2:37 PM ET Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown at a January 2014 minimum-wage rally outside the Maryland State House.

Jose Luis Magana/AP Here's a measure of Maryland's Democratic tilt: Even an epic failure in launching the state's health care website isn't enough to derail the political fortunes of the official responsible for it. The Affordable Care Act is that popular.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, who was assigned by Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley in 2010 to oversee the health care law's rollout in Maryland, remains the Democratic front-runner in the June 24 primary. His still-formidable standing is a testament to his political talent, but also to his chief rival's for .

Doug Gansler, Maryland's attorney general, has made Brown's alleged managerial incompetence a central theme of his campaign. To further his point about Brown's managerial chops, Gansler earlier this week did something rare in American politics — he trivialized a veteran's military service.

Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler.

Cliff Owen/AP Brown, an Army Reserve colonel and Harvard Law grad, did a tour in Iraq in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.

"I'm running against somebody who has never managed anybody, never run anything," Gansler said at a candidate forum earlier in the week before a group of high-tech executives. "His ads are about how he's a lawyer in Iraq, and that's all fine and good, but this is a real job."

Cue the outrage from veterans.

At a candidates' forum Wednesday evening in Takoma Park, Md., just outside Washington, D.C., Gansler tried to extricate himself from the controversy. "Like everybody in this room I have the deepest respect for all of our veterans and the utmost respect for all of our veterans. ...

"My issue was leadership," Gansler continued. "To be governor, you have a chance to be a leader. And I was questioning the lieutenant governor's leadership in Annapolis because for the first seven years in Annapolis as lieutenant governor he wasn't involved in things and didn't have a role and really didn't do a lot. Then he said, 'I'm in charge of the Affordable Care Act rollout,' " which turned out to be a disaster.

When Brown took his turn on the stage at the forum, he demonstrated why smart politicians never, ever, say anything that remotely resembles criticism of an opponent's military service.

"One of the most difficult nights of my life was telling my 9-year-old daughter and my 4-year-old son that their dad would be spending a year with the Army in the desert," Brown said.

"I went because of the professionalism and courage of the men and women of the 3rd Infantry Division in Baghdad, the same unit I served with 20 years earlier on active duty. I made it back home to my family and the country that we all love."

Cue the .

For what it was worth, Brown accepted responsibility for the website failure. "Everyone involved in establishing the health benefits exchange has a responsibility and that includes me," Brown said.

Also noteworthy: Maryland is one of two states where Democrats running in primaries for governor are using the ACA to try to score political points against other Democrats. It's also occurring in .

It's one thing for Republicans to campaign against Democrats using ACA as a weapon. It's an entirely different thing when Democrats do it.

Gansler's dismissive comment about Brown was clearly a major failure — but perhaps not his most important one.

He has also clearly failed, so far at least, to get Maryland Democratic voters to care much about Brown's mismanagement of the health exchange website's launch.

Like its federal counterpart, the Maryland site crashed last fall at the start of open enrollment, delaying the ability of many Marylanders to sign up. It's estimated the state will have spent at least $130 million on the flawed site and its replacement by time it's all over, according to a .

Brown, who hopes to become the state's first African-American governor, has a healthy lead in the polls despite the health care exchange misfire.

Polls conducted in early April by St. Mary's College of Maryland put Brown's support at 27 percent of Democratic voters, Gansler at 11 percent and state Del. Heather Mizeur at 8 percent.

The contest clearly hasn't engaged most Maryland Democrats, however. A majority of them, 54 percent, were undecided. That's not for lack of trying on the Democratic establishment's part. Brown has been endorsed by everyone from former President Bill Clinton, who is scheduled to do a fundraiser in a few weeks for Brown, to O'Malley.

Several voters at the forum told It's All Politics that because Maryland is such a strong Democratic state, the botched website isn't as damaging to Brown as it might have been elsewhere.

"Maryland did a good job of embarrassing itself but I don't hold one person responsible for that," said Judith Johnson, a retired mental health center director who attended the candidates' forum. She was one of those Brown-leaning Democrats. "I like his style, his calmness. And I like the administration we've had."

THE LEVEL OF AUTOCRATIC POLICY COMING FROM BUSH AND NOW OBAMA IS TAKING THE US TO A TOTALITARIAN SOCIETY.  NOAM CHOMSKY CALLS A CORPORATE STATE-----WHERE NEO-LIBERALS ARE TAKING THE US-----A TOTALITARIAN STATE.  YOU BETCHA!

All candidates for Governor of Maryland except Cindy Walsh will continue this global corporate takeover of our government----and MD AFL-CIO and MD AFSCME backs the

LET'S REVIEW THE SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY SYSTEM THAT IS HOMELAND SECURITY:

Remember, the reason the US suddenly has all these people wanting death to America is that US policy went with global corporations with Reagan and Clinton and since then the IMF has attempted to capture developing world governments and economies just as they are doing now in the US.  All we have to do is run and vote for labor and justice and reinstate Rule of Law to downsize these global corporations----EASY PEASY.

Below you see University of Maryland is the nations leader in spying/surveillance/drone technology right behind Johns Hopkins University-----you can see why they kept a candidate for Governor of Maryland out of the forums taking place on their campuses-----all of Maryland public universities have refused my campaign a spot in primary debates/forums and it is because of my platform of reversing the loss of civil liberties and public justice and replacing global corporations with a domestic economy driven by small and regional businesses.  Remember, public universities were the bedrock of political discussion and debate and political freedoms.  Now, in Maryland they are locked and captured because they are corporate.

LOTS OF AUTOCRATIC CORPORATE STATE ACTIVITIES IN MARYLAND AND OUR PUBLIC UNIVERSITY SYSTEM IS GROUND ZERO FOR THIS!

Baltimore is home of Johns Hopkins which is NSA and drone extraordinaire so the first to build militarized policing would be Baltimore and NYC.  Bloomberg is tied to Hopkins so all policy is shared.  Baltimore has a population of around 650,000 people most of which are poor and working class and Hopkins through a development corporation has been forcing huge numbers of poor and working class out of city center just as with NYC with many more wanted to go.  This brings social unrest and with it all kinds of security build-up.  We just had another spy plane fly over testing for radiation (dirty bombs).  The other problem will be the really bad policy of making Baltimore a world-class Port for international shipping.  It will kill our bay and Port but that does not matter.  With international shipping comes cargo containers that may have dirty bombs.

For those living in Baltimore and Maryland we know there is a common denominator in drones, NSA surveillance, and Smart Meters of which I speak below.....JOHNS HOPKINS AND BROOKINGS INSTITUTION.  Hopkins owns VEOLA ENVIRONMENTAL that will be overseeing Smart Meters for waste and energy and profiting from recycling and tiered energy pricing.....not to mention all of that personal data heading to the super computer on the Hopkins campus.

Why is a Gigantic War-Blimp About to Fly Above the Skies of Suburban Baltimore?

Posted on January 23, 2014

One of the most disturbing and relentless trends over the past several years has been the redirection of war technology and equipment from the battlefield abroad toward domestic use in the USA. This has resulted in a militarization of police across the nation and has encouraged small towns to use Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants to purchase ridiculous items such as tanks.

Sadly, it appears this trend is only accelerating. With billions of dollars already spent, and failed wars abroad, the military-industrial complex needs to continue to generate cash flow. May as well just use it against the American people.

We find out from the Washington Post that:

They will look like two giant white blimps floating high above I-95 in Maryland, perhaps en route to a football game somewhere along the bustling Eastern Seaboard. But their mission will have nothing to do with sports and everything to do with war.

The aerostats — that is the term for lighter-than-air craft that are tethered to the ground — are to be set aloft on Army-owned land about 45 miles northeast of Washington, near Aberdeen Proving Ground, for a three-year test slated to start in October. From a vantage of 10,000 feet, they will cast a vast radar net from Raleigh, N.C., to Boston and out to Lake Erie, with the goal of detecting cruise missiles or enemy aircraft so they could be intercepted before reaching the capital.

Interesting, I didn’t realize we were at war. When was the last time cruise missiles were shot into the United States?

Aerostats deployed by the military at U.S. bases in Iraq and Afghanistan typically carried powerful surveillance cameras as well, to track the movements of suspected insurgents and even U.S. soldiers.

Defense contractor Raytheon last year touted an exercise in which it outfitted the aerostats planned for deployment in suburban Baltimore with one of the company’s most powerful high-altitude surveillance systems, capable of spotting individual people and vehicles from a distance of many miles.

The Army said it has “no current plans” to mount such cameras or infrared sensors on the aerostats or to share information with federal, state or local law enforcement, but it declined to rule out either possibility. The radar system that is planned for the aerostats will be capable of monitoring the movement of trains, boats and cars, the Army said.

“No Current plans.” What a bunch of assholes. You know they can’t wait to attach an ARGUS surveillance system to these puppies.

“That’s the kind of massive persistent surveillance we’ve always been concerned about with drones,” said Jay Stanley, a privacy expert for the American Civil Liberties Union. “It’s part of this trend we’ve seen since 9/11, which is the turning inward of all of these surveillance technologies.”

The Army played down such concerns in written responses to questions posed by The Washington Post, saying its goal is to test the ability of the aerostats to bolster the region’s missile-defense capability, especially against low-flying cruise missiles that can be hard for ground-based systems to detect in time to intercept them.

The Army determined it did not need to conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment, required for some government programs, because it was not going to collect any personally identifiable information, officials said in their written responses to The Post.

Did the FISA court rubber stamp this assessment?

Technologies developed for battlefields — weapons, vehicles, communications systems — long have flowed homeward as overseas conflicts have ended. The battles that followed the Sept. 11 attacks have produced major advances in surveillance equipment whose manufacturers increasingly are looking to expand their use within the United States.

Aerostats — basically big balloons on strings — grew popular in Iraq and Afghanistan and also are used by Israel to monitor the Gaza Strip and by the United States to eye movement along southern border areas. Even a rifle shot through an aerostat will not bring it down, because the pressure of the helium inside nearly matches the pressure of the air outside, preventing rapid deflation.

So equipment used to control people in war zones are coming to America and there’s nothing to be concerned about?

The Defense Department spent nearly $7 billion on 15 different lighter-than-air systems between 2007 and 2012, with several suffering from technical problems, delays and unexpectedly high costs, the Government Accountability Office found in an October 2012 report.

“They are bringing this to the East Coast, close to Washington, to get the Pentagon guys and Congress to say, ‘Whoa, we could really use this,’ ” said Daniel Goure of the Lexington Institute, a military think tank with ties to the defense industry. “This is re-purposing. You’ve already spent the money.”

Have fun Baltimore.

U of M College Park is no longer a public university----it is now a lean, mean corporate machine with all the course work it takes to keep US global corporations safe around the world.  All this is important for job creation you know!

Hitler took over a nation's industry and used it for his war of expansion, taking the public's wealth to do it.  He had the largest Secret Police and surveillance service making everyone fearful that someone else was a spy.  If you cannot see that happening with these NSA scandals and the expanded roll of policing and drone/surveillance technology in Maryland-----WAKE UP!!!!!

University Of Md. Among Schools Developing Drone Concepts For Civilian Use

January 2, 2014 5:08 PM

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland airspace may not be involved, but the state’s brain power definitely is.

Alex DeMetrick reports the FAA will include research at the University of Maryland into the job of integrating drone aircraft into civilian airspace.

At the University of Maryland, they’re trying to do more than pilot drones by hand. Researchers are trying to figure out how insects navigate through the air without big brains or GPS.

Figure that out, and:

“We can leverage that to navigate and also possibly for sense and avoid technology in the national airspace,” said Dr. Darryll Pines, Dean, University of Maryland School of Engineering.

Right now, that airspace takes humans to fly in. But the FAA has selected Virginia and five other states to develop and test drone technology in unrestricted airspace–research the University of Maryland will also join in.

MEANWHILE-------

There is absolutely no way this technology will not be abused as they pretend they can simply allow these drones to fill the airways.  Do we really need drones to do the work of our Department of Natural Resources employees?  This is yet another step of taking the public out of all loops in knowing what is happening in the state and being accountable to the public.

YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY ONCE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR THEY TELL US-----OH REALLY????????  THAT'S A NEO-LIBERAL FOR YOU.

Please check out this group and get involved!!!!

Do you think a government willing to allow massive fracking and exporting raw energy and global agriculture that drain and contaminate all of our fresh water is really concerned with energy conservation?  What a LOL thought!

This would have once been thought a conspiracy theory but we now see this article as mainstream as people across the country now believe that these Smart Meters are only meant to ration and restrict the public as needed.  I've spoken of the intent to end subsidy and tie product to what can be afforded.  As this article indicates, it goes further than that.  Wall Street and corporations will be allowed access to your energy consumption data for bill collection purposes----are you at home when not at work?  Will I hire someone who can only afford to keep energy running part of the day or will that make someone easily exploited?

This is not hyperbole.....it is in fact what a totalitarian society would do.  Control of every aspect of your life.

THIS IS WHY SNOWDEN OUTED THE NSA-------AS HE SAID -----YOU WILL NOT HAVE AN AVENUE OF PRIVACY AT ALL IF THIS IS LEFT UNCHECKED!

I included an article from the UK because it needs to be seen as a global effort.  There is no shortage of natural gas or electricity.....so the reasons are a ploy.

Smart meters could be 'spy in the home'

Smart meters could become a 'spy in the home' by allowing social workers and health authorities to monitor households, adding to concern at Britain's surveillance society. Smart meters will eliminate the need to take readings from traditional electricity and gas meters.

10:30AM BST 11 Oct 2009 UK Telegraph

The devices, which the government plans to install in every home by 2020, will also tell energy firms what sort of appliances are being used, allowing companies to target customers who do not reduce their energy consumption.

Privacy campaigners have expressed horror at the proposals, which come as two million homes have 'spy' devices fitted to their rubbish bins by councils who record how much residents are recycling.

The government wants every home in Britain to have smart meters, which give users information on how to save energy and send real-time data direct to utility companies, eliminating the need for customers to stay at home for meter readings or to receive estimated bills.

The devices also pave the way for a national 'smart grid', backed by David Cameron's Conservatives, which would use the data to manage national demand more efficiently and advise households when it is cheapest to switch on appliances.

In its impact assessment, however, the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) says there "is theoretically scope... for using the smart metering communications infrastructure to enable a variety of other services, such as monitoring of vulnerable householders by health authorities or social services departments."

Related Articles
  • Households face higher bills for using home appliances at peak periods

It adds: "Information from smart meters could also make it possible for a supplier to determine when electricity or gas was being used in a property and, to a degree, the types of technology that were being used within the property. This could be used to target energy efficiency advice and offers of measures, social programmes etc to householders."

Doretta Cocks, founder of the Campaign for Weekly Waste Collection, said: "This is Orwellian. We're already under surveillance for what we put outside the home in bins and now we could be watched for what we're doing inside as well.

"Most of us are happy to reduce our energy consumption or reduce waste but these measures always seem to come at the expense of our privacy. If I want advice on energy efficiency I will ask for it."

Guy Herbert, general secretary of NO2ID, said: "Information from smart meters might be useful to energy providers and perhaps even their customers, but there's no reason for any public authority to have access to it – unless they've a warrant to do so.

"This document is a prime example of government efforts to shoehorn data sharing and feature creep into every new policy. For example, it suggests that NHS or social services could use the system to monitor 'vulnerable

householders', or that companies could use the system to spam customers with adverts for their services – having paid the government for the privilege, no doubt."

The DECC document adds households could even have their power to some appliances turned off remotely to help the national grid if there is too much demand. It says: "In terms of potentially intrusive non-physical behaviour unrelated to data, smart metering potentially offers scope for remote intervention such as dynamic demand management, which is designed to assist management of the network and thus security of supply. This could involve direct supplier or distribution company interface with equipment, such as refrigerators, within a property, overriding the control of the householder."

It also says potential extra uses for smart meters would need to be checked to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.

The Information Commissioner's Office said it had already discussed the issue of smart meters with some suppliers, including Eon, Scottish Power and British Gas. A spokesman said the ICO would "continue to maintain a close dialogue to ensure that their introduction does not compromise customers' privacy".

He added: "Important issues include what information is stored on the meters themselves, in particular whether information identifying the householder will be held. In any event energy companies will clearly need to hold records linking meters with householders and all the information must be held in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act."

A spokeswoman for the DECC said: "The accurate, informative data that smart meters provide will be of great value to consumers. Rules and safeguards governing access to, and the use of, the data from smart meters will be reviewed as part of the Government's work in preparing for the start of the mass smart meter roll-out."

Consumer Focus, the watchdog, has also expressed concern about the privacy implications of the meters, saying consumers are "at risk of unfair, excessive, inequitable and inefficient charging" because energy companies could use the new data to introduce more complex tariffs to maximise profits at peak times.

The government has yet to decide who will pay for replacing Britain's 47 million meters, which could cost up to £8bn over the next 20 years. Its preferred option is for the cost to be met by energy firms, who stand to gain the most from meters as they remove the need to employ meter readers or calculate estimated bills.

More than two million households in Britain have microchips in their council bin. Sensors and weighing equipment fitted to the back of each rubbish lorry allow the council to collect data as each bin is raised. Information collected from outside each household is downloaded to a database that allows officials to monitor how much waste each household is producing for waste and for recycling. Officials then use the data to target errant streets and households in a bid to increase recycling rates from 43 per cent to 60 per cent.

I want to be clear, when we are made to use our energy a particular way.....forced to recycle because it is now a corporate profit factor......charged more to use energy at prime time......and having all our data sold to corporations for their marketing/research needs we have lost all of our freedoms.

Keep in mind that when there is a water shortage or an electrical shortage the government simply has local news tell people not to water lawns or wash cars or not to use air conditioners at peak hours AND THAT WORKS JUST FINE!  So, this is NOT about conservation.....it is about control and surveillance.

The complaint about detecting marijuana growers is mute......the problem is far greater than that.

Smart Meters: Surveillance Devices

Smart Meters Are Surveillance Devices That Monitor The Behavior In Your Home Every Single Minute Of Every Single Day

Today's Date:  Friday, January 24th, 2014 Decrypted Matrix

Have you heard about the new “smart meters” that are being installed in homes all across America?  Under the guise of “reducing greenhouse gas emissions” and “reducing energy bills”, utility companies all over the United States are forcing tens of millions of American families to accept sophisticated surveillance devices in their homes.  Currently, approximately 9 percent of all electric meters in the U.S. have been converted over to smart meters.  It is being projected that by 2012, the number of smart meters in use will rise to 52 million, and the federal government is spending a lot of money to help get these installed everywhere.  Eventually the goal is to have these smart meters in all of our homes and if that ever happened there would essentially be no more privacy.  Once installed, a smart meter monitors your home every single minute of every single day and it transmits very sophisticated data about your personal behavior back to the utility company.

So can’t we just tell the utility companies that we don’t want these stupid things?

Unfortunately, in many areas of the country you can’t.  For example, one outraged resident of California contacted the utility company and was told that if he did not consent to taking a smart meter he would receive no service.

So unless you want to live “off the grid”, what are you going to do?  Can any of us really survive without electricity these days?

The sad truth is that these things are being forced upon us.

It is happening in Europe too.  The European Parliament has set a goal of having smart meters in the homes of 80 percent of all electricity consumers by the year 2020.

Sadly, as these smart meters have gone in there have been reports all over the country of electricity bills increasing dramatically.  There have been mountains of complaints about these things and yet their use keeps spreading.

But of course the biggest issue with smart meters is how they will strip us of our privacy.

The concern is that the incredibly detailed data that these surveillance devices collect will be given or sold to a vast array of third parties.

For example, smart meters are already being used by police to bust marijuana growers.

It is also feared that insurance companies, credit agencies, lawyers, marketing firms and even criminals will be able to get their hands on this data as well.

A recent article posted on the website of the Electronic Frontier Foundation summarized some of the concerns….

“Without strong protections, this information can and will be repurposed by interested parties. It’s not hard to imagine a divorce lawyer subpoenaing this information, an insurance company interpreting the data in a way that allows it to penalize customers, or criminals intercepting the information to plan a burglary. Marketing companies will also desperately want to access this data”

For law enforcement officials, these surveillance devices are a dream come true. According to the Columbus Dispatch, police in central Ohio have been filing at least 60 subpoenas every single month for the energy-use records of those that they suspect are growing pot in their homes.

Well, it turns out that sometimes police are raiding homes that are using a lot of energy and they don’t find any marijuana at all.  Instead, sometimes these raids reveal others kinds of activities….

Sometimes, high electricity use doesn’t lead investigators to drugs. A federal investigation in the Powell area turned into a surprise for detectives.

“We thought it was a major grow operation … but this guy had some kind of business involving computers,” Marotta said. “I don’t know how many computer servers we found in his home.”

So do you want police raiding your home if you start using a little bit too much electricity?

Jerry Day, an electronics and media expert from Burbank California, recently detailed many of the ways that smart meters act as surveillance devices when they are installed in our homes….

1. They individually identify electrical devices inside the home and record when they are operated causing invasion of privacy.

2. They monitor household activity and occupancy in violation of rights and domestic security.

3. They transmit wireless signals which may be intercepted by unauthorized and unknown parties. Those signals can be used to monitor behavior and occupancy and they can be used by criminals to aid criminal activity against the occupants.

4. Data about occupant’s daily habits and activities are collected, recorded and stored in permanent databases which are accessed by parties not authorized or invited to know and share that private data.

5. Those with access to the smart meter databases can review a permanent history of household activities complete with calendar and time-of-day metrics to gain a highly invasive and detailed view of the lives of the occupants.

6. Those databases may be shared with, or fall into the hands of criminals, blackmailers, law enforcement, private hackers of wireless transmissions, power company employees, and other unidentified parties who may act against the interests of the occupants under metered surveillance.

7. “Smart Meters” are, by definition, surveillance devices which violate Federal and State wiretapping laws by recording and storing databases of private and personal activities and behaviors without the consent or knowledge of those people who are monitored.

8. It is possible for example, with analysis of certain “Smart Meter” data, for unauthorized and distant parties to determine medical conditions, sexual activities, physical locations of persons within the home, vacancy patterns and personal information and habits of the occupants.

Jerry Day has also produced a terrific YouTube video in which he explains many of these points more fully.  If you live in an area where these insidious smart meters are going in, then please share this video with as many people living near you as you can….

The time to object to these smart meters is before they go in.  Once they are in all of our homes it is going to be too late.

This is all part of the radical green agenda that is being forced down the throats of people all over the world.

Everything that we do has to be watched, monitored and tightly controlled for the “good of the environment”.

To the control freaks running things, that also means that the liberties and freedoms that we cherish so much must be greatly restricted.

If you don’t know about “Agenda 21“, you should learn about it.  The UN has a plan for the future of this planet, and once you find out about this plan you probably are not going to like it very much.  The entire globe is rapidly becoming one big prison grid as the elite implement their vision of the future.

If you want to get a really good idea of what they are planning, just watch this video.

If the control freaks get their way, there will eventually be no more privacy for any of us.

Unless we speak out now, the surveillance devices are just going to become more and more sophisticated.  At some point, none of us is even going to be able to sneeze without someone knowing about it.

So what do all of you think about these smart meters?  Does anyone out there have a smart meter horror story?  Please feel free to leave a comment with your opinion below….

Those of us in Baltimore already know the debacle that is speed cameras and we know as well that it took constant media shaming and huge public outrage to stop what all knew were faulty tickets actually stealing money from citizens.  Between Smart Meters that are already showing skewed pricing for utilities and these ticketing schemes all of which record our movement by car.......the WAR BLIMP will follow us by train or bus!

Who are these people preparing all kinds of escape from whom our Homeland Security pretend to protect WE THE PEOPLE?  Probably the world's citizens coming to recover their tens of trillions of dollars stolen with massive corporate fraud!

Cordon multi-target photo-radar system leaves no car untagged

Go easy on the gas, Speed Racer, because Cordon is on its way. Developed by Simicon, this new speed sensor promises to take highway surveillance to new heights of precision. Unlike most photo radar systems, which track only one violator at a time, Simicon's device can simultaneously identify and follow up to 32 vehicles across four lanes. Whenever a car enters its range, the Cordon will automatically generate two images: one from wide-angle view and one closeup shot of the vehicle's license plate. It's also capable of instantly measuring a car's speed and mapping its position, and can easily be synced with other databases via WiFi, 3G or WiMAX. Plus, this device is compact and durable enough to be mounted upon a tripod or atop a road sign, making it even harder for drivers to spot. Fortunately, though, you still have time to change your dragster ways, as distributor Peak Gain Systems won't be bringing the Cordon to North America until the first quarter of 2012. Cruise past the break to see some footage of a field trial that's currently underway -- cars tagged with a green dot are traveling below the speed limit, those with a yellow marking are chugging along within an acceptable range above the limit, while vehicles with a red tab are just asking for trouble.

I will be back Monday with private military complex issues!

I AM BLOGGING THESE WEEKENDS ON THE ELECTION PRIMARY AND THE ELECTION VIOLATIONS AND WALLS BLOCKING FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS IN MARYLAND.  PLEASE KNOW THAT 501C3 ORGANIZATIONS HAVING THESE DEBATES AND FORUMS ARE REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW TO INVITE ALL CANDIDATES AND WHERE THAT HAPPENS IN MANY EVENTS ACROSS MARYLAND....THE LARGER DEBATES/FORUMS AND THE LARGEST VOTING DISTRICTS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY AND BALTIMORE IGNORE THESE ELECTION LAWS AND VIOLATIONS ARE RIFE.  MARYLAND MEDIA IS SO CAPTURED IT LAUGHS AS IT PROMOTES ONLY THE THREE CANDIDATES IN THE RACE BEING GLOBAL CORPORATE POLS.  PUBLIC MEDIA IS REQUIRED TO GIVE EQUAL ACCESS TO CANDIDATES IN THEIR CAMPAIGN COVERAGE.

It is the failure of all ability to get name recognition and platform exposure that keeps people from running for office.  Below you see how ridiculous it has become when.....after months of a media blitz on Brown, Gansler, and Mizeur polls show only 25% for Brown, and Gansler and Mizeur around 10% yet, media justifies intensive coverage of these three because they are the 'front-runners'.  I dare say that the 54% undecided are waiting to find Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland campaign platform which is why my campaign is black listed in media.

IF YOU DO NOT ENGAGE AS A CITIZEN IN POLITICS YOU WILL LOSE YOUR STATUS AS CITIZEN!!!

Follow to the end to see my complaint to the Federal Election Commission as I try to rebuild free and fair elections in Maryland.  STOP VOTING FOR CORPORATE POLITICIANS----ALL POLS IN MARYLAND ARE CORPORATE!

Last weekend I took Mizeur to task so I would like to take Gansler on by saying -----how can this man be allowed to run for public office?????

Regarding Doug Gansler and his running mate having an interview on 'progressive' public media in Maryland:

MY QUESTIONS FOR DOUG GANSLER FOR GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND AS A DEMOCRAT:

Given the State of Maryland was ranked at the bottom nationally for fraud, corruption, and lack of transparency by Center for Public Integrity and other government watchdogs.....do you feel that Doug Gansler has done his duties as Maryland Attorney General? Do you think that turning his head to corporate fraud explains why he has a campaign war chest? Given that it is aiding and abetting when a government official charged with protecting the public ignores crimes against the public, do you think Doug Gansler is a qualified candidate for any office in Maryland but especially governor?

What do you think of violations of election law that has Doug Gansler at election events.....debates and forums where 501c3s select who they want to appear rather than sending the required invitation to all candidates? Gansler is after all the one tasked with making the Federal government aware of election violations at the state level.

Why do you think that Maryland media will only allow the candidates chosen by the 1% of Maryland air time during primaries.......the most global corporate of pols continually saying these are the leaders when the polls are saying 54% of democratic voters are undecided? How many time during the election cycle have you heard the name Anthony Brown------Cindy Walsh?

Let's all work to reinstate free and fair elections in Maryland and at least make sure election laws are not openly violated! Global corporate pols should not even be in democratic primaries for goodness sake-----look at the democratic platform!

____________________________
____________
CINDY WALSH FOR GOVERNOR CANNOT GET A PEEK IN THE MEDIA BECAUSE OF THIS CAPTURE ----ALL 3 CANDIDATES BROWN, GANSLER, AND MIZEUR ARE CORPORATE AND CALLED FRONT-RUNNERS WITH 1% OF THE VOTERS POLLED GIVING THEM 10% OF THE VOTE.

'This week, Nomi Prins, a former managing partner at Goldman Sachs wrote about the long history of how the nation’s biggest bankers have controlled presidents throughout the last century. She writes: “With so much power in the hands of an elite few, America operates more as a plutocracy on behalf of the upper caste than a democracy or a republic. Voters are caught in the crossfire of two political parties vying to run Washington in a manner that benefits the banking caste, regardless of whether a Democrat or Republican is sitting in the Oval.”'

___________________________________________

Below you see a poll released that looked at less than a 1,000 democratic voters in a state with 900,000 registered democrats. You see the media says that high undecided means people do not care------it means the media is not showing them my campaign which is what people want!

EVERY MEDIA OUTLET IN MARYLAND CARRIES THE SAME ELECTION COVERAGE.

This is Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland on the democratic labor and justice ticket. When I look at these polls taken on the governor's race I can only wonder-----is that 54% undecided democratic voter simply looking for my campaign?
When I keep seeing only Gansler, Brown, and Mizeur in all media coverage ------when a poll shows the democratic names of the same people with a huge margin of undecided-----is it really an accurate poll and do we really have free and fair elections in Maryland?

I look at the venues with which you partner and I visit them often .....and none of them mention Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland.

Now, I have as much experience in administration and a life connected to politics with activism so none of these candidates have any more ability for the position of governor. So, what determines their constant media coverage? Campaign money. At a time when the entire US is shouting foul about corporate and wealth money in elections do we really need arenas like universities and public media -----and a polling institution -----making election winners and losers from which candidate has the most money? Wouldn't it be conducive to free and fair elections to make the platforms available and allow platforms to determine the winners and losers?

Thank you for your time,

Cindy Walsh

Analysis: New Poll Confirms No One Cares About Race for Md. Governor
Current Stories:

Posted on April 23, 2014

Political Commentary by Todd Eberly, for MarylandReporter.com

Who will live in Government House, the governor’s residence next year?

The inaugural Maryland Poll from St. Mary’s College of Maryland surveyed the political landscape heading into the 2014 primary election and found that most Marylanders have absolutely no preference when it comes to the candidates for governor.

The poll is in line with prior polls for Gonzales Research, The Baltimore Sun, and The Washington Post. Much like those polls, the Maryland Poll finds a very unsettled race for the GOP nomination and a Democratic race where the favorite, the sitting two term lieutenant governor, is being beaten by “No Preference” by a 2 to 1 margin.

The 2014 primary is two months away and yet most voters appear to have no firm commitments to the candidates.

No firm commitments

Specifically, the poll finds Anthony Brown with 27% support, followed by Douglas Gansler at 11% and Heather Mizeur at 8%. But fully 54% expressed no preference.

In a three-way race, Brown is close to the 34% that would be sufficient to win a closely matched election. But much like the other candidates, he has been unable to expand his base of support even after a year of campaigning and advertising.

Gansler has been hammering away at Brown on the issue of Maryland’s failed health exchange, but with 11% support the issue does not appear to be helping him.

Mizeur has been generating a lot of coverage and interest of late owing to her unapologetically progressive campaign. She has embraced a living wage, physician-assisted suicide, a moratorium on fracking, legalization of marijuana, and host of other progressive wish list items. Yet she’s made no noticeable progress in winning over potential voters.

Brown’s to lose

The Democratic primary remains Brown’s to lose and it’s likely that the upcoming debates will present the final opportunities for either Gansler or Mizeur to change that reality.

Interestingly, Gansler seems to have shifted his strategy. Early on, he presented himself as a centrist, pro-business Democrat. Recently, he has de-emphasized those qualities and instead focused on more progressive policy issues. This was a mistake.

In a three way race with two candidates already chasing the progressive vote, the smart move is to target the voters that the other two are ignoring. Gansler needs to pivot back to the center. His only path to victory requires Brown and Mizeur to split the progressive vote while Gansler goes for the moderate and conservative Democrats still in the party.

GOP’s disastrous situation

On the Republican side the poll finds a disastrous situation for the state’s permanent minority party.

More than two-thirds of Maryland Republican voters have no preference. Larry Hogan claims the support of 16%, followed by David Craig at 7.8%. Neither Ron George nor Charles Lollar were able to crack 4%.

Maryland is a very tough nut for Republicans to crack. Democrats enjoy a 2 to 1 voter registration advantage and Republicans are rarely ever able to overcome the Democrats’ advantages in the state’s population centers.

For a Republican to win, the nominee would need several things to break his or her way.

-- The Democratic party must be divided after the primary. That could certainly happen this year.

-- The Democratic electorate must lack passion for the party’s nominee. That could certainly happen this year.

-- It must be a good year for Republicans nationally (like in 1994, 2002, or 2010). That could certainly happen this year.

Beyond those three ingredients, a Republican candidate also needs a unified and passionate Republican party and an electorate frustrated with the direction of the state. Neither of those two ingredients are present.

Not enough dissatisfaction

With regard to the direction of the state: Though the poll found a plurality of 46% agreeing that the state is going in the wrong direction, another 41% said it was going in the right direction. That margin is not sufficient for a Republican to overcome the Democrats’ built in advantages.

Keep in mind, Bob Ehrlich had an approval rating above 50% when he lost the 2006 election by 6 percentage points.

A clear majority of poll respondents supported increasing the minimum wage and reported that the Affordable Care Act either helped their families or had no effect on them, a slim majority supported decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana, and pluralities supported affirmative action, the fracking moratorium and gun control.

In a particularly interesting finding, the survey asked respondents how they were registered and then later asked what party they consider themselves to be a member of. The voter registration numbers essentially match state records – 53% Democrat, 28% Republican, and 18.5% Independent or other.

When asked how they see themselves, the breakdown was 44% Democrat, 25% Republican, and 31% Independent or other. The breakdown shows that there is an opportunity for the GOP in the state, but only if the party can broaden its appeal and only if party activists accept that the party cannot win without attracting Independent voters.

No frontrunners in GOP

Several months ago, as I was arguing that David Craig represented the GOP’s best chance at reclaiming the governor’s mansion, many Republican activists challenged my assertion. Both privately and via social media these activists suggested a much stronger candidate existed and would soon enter the race and energize the party. They were referring to Larry Hogan.

Well, Hogan’s in the race and he is the “frontrunner.” But in a race where 64% of potential primary voters have no preference, there are no frontrunners. Hogan has not lit the fire that many were expecting.

Likewise, Craig has not run the experienced, well managed campaign that I was expecting. Craig sought to shore up the GOP base by taking a distinct right turn (thereby harming his ability to win in November) and Hogan has adopted a play it safe strategy by skipping forum after forum (thereby harming his credibility).

And no GOP candidate has any real success raising money. All four candidates combined could barely reach $1 million - meanwhile, Gansler and Brown are each sitting on multiple millions.

As things stand today, it’s hard to see the GOP reclaiming the keys to Government House.

Todd Eberly is associate professor of political science and Coordinator of Public Policy Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He is currently on sabbatical writing a book, and had no involvement in the new poll.

Mind you, I am a professional every bit as qualified as these candidates....in fact as regards administration of which much of being a governor is about.....I am probably more qualified.   So, making my campaign sound marginal right off the bat tells you there is a push to keep my platform silent.

Below you see a list of forums/debates that failed to invite my campaign and following these examples are the complaints my campaign is filing with Federal Elections Commission. At first, I only heard about some of these events afterwards and could not attempt to correct these violations and now, I am notifying coming events of my intent to participate and I am waiting for a response. I am including these events yet to happen because this is a systemic problem and these venues need to be approached this pattern of violations.

MY COMPLAINT TO THE FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISSION:

Above you see a list of events already past and a few to come. In every case my campaign was not included in the invitation list sent and therefor when these events indicate the candidates attending were the ones replying to an invitation…..they are covering the fact that not all candidates were invited. There is a huge problem with free and fair elections in Maryland. Baltimore and Prince George’s County are the worst offenders. My campaign has received plenty of invitations across Maryland but it is in large voting districts like these two counties where election violations are rampant. When a campaign cannot even get their name mentioned in these large venues you have deliberate attempts to steal an election. It is no coincidence that my platform embraces issues that are counter to policies presented by current politicians at state level. To silence the voice of a candidate because of the political issues they put forward is an assault to democracy and it taints the ability of the citizens of Maryland to know their candidates.
I cannot control private media outlets and their coverage, but 501c3 organizations are not allowed to select winners and losers.
‘If your organization takes a stand in any campaign, supporting or opposing one or another candidate, this violates the prohibition’.
Obviously, the exclusion of my campaign is a detriment to my viability in this election and this cannot be understood in any other light. The forums above have operated in this fashion for years and I had the Chair of Maryland Assembly Elections Committee Jon Cardin tell me that ‘this is how we do it’. I write extensively to public media outlets in Baltimore WYPR and WEAA to explain that they cannot keep having candidates on their programs and exclude others. My campaign has been completely excluded from all public media and as you see above, the Maryland Public Television event is excluding me as well. This has made Maryland elections crony and the citizens have reached a point of apathy in voting because none of the candidates given the spotlight speaks to their interests. This is why Baltimore has a 20% voter turnout and why this coming governor’s election sees 54% of democrats as undecided……I will project that number higher if the poll was actually performed correctly. That 54% undecided could very well be waiting to hear my platform!
I want to emphasize this is a systemic problem in these two counties……Prince George’s and Baltimore. In Baltimore it is driven by the city power structure that controls all media and events. I would also like to suggest that targeting candidates who run as labor and justice in cities and counties with the highest labor and justice problems is clearly designed to suppress free and fair elections.
Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland is requesting the Federal Election Commission investigate and correct this problem immediately because this primary season is in full swing and if my campaign is allowed to be sidelined we will be contesting the primary winner in court. This is a clear case of election violations and the systemic nature of the problem requires Federal intervention into Maryland State Election process.
I want to make one more point. When media in Maryland and these event organizers who discriminate in candidates who attend use the terms ‘top three democratic candidates’ over and again to describe Brown, Gansler, and Mizeur, you have statements that are misleading. Clearly, when a poll is taken with Brown receiving 25% of democratic support, Gansler and Mizeur around 10% of support-----you clearly do not have top candidates. I dare say even those voters would change if given alternatives. What Maryland media prefaces its claim to ‘top three democratic candidates’ is which candidate is receiving campaign funds. It has nothing to do with platform and voter support. This is not what elections are about. This misuse of ‘leading’ gives false impressions designed to taint the voting process. It is deliberate. The polls we have to endure take fewer than 2,000 representative voters out of 900,000 democratic voters to come to these percentages. No one knows how skewed these polls can be. We need an investigation of Maryland’s election process and my case in particular.

PLEASE STOP THIS CYCLE OF POLITICIANS THINKING THEY CAN IGNORE RULE OF LAW.  IT WILL END YOUR STATUS AS CITIZEN.....WHICH IS THE GOAL OF NEO-LIBERALISM.

You know what we say to Supreme Court ruling that allows corporate and wealth to send tons of money into campaigns?

LET THE RICH MAKE THE MEDIA RICH MAKING THEIR CORPORATE POLS RICH --------just educate in your communities for people to stop listening to these campaign advertisements that almost always have little truth.  Community centers, public schools, public justice organizations should all be educating the public as to the need to dis-empower these campaign strategies!

I will end for now my look at public justice in Maryland with a fitting topic......election law and free and fair elections.  My candidacy is based first on getting elected as Governor of Maryland but as important is highlighting how fraudulent and corrupt Maryland elections have become and much of it involves how candidates are allowed to get their campaign platform out to the public and get name recognition.  As you see below, there are pockets of Maryland's system that work and gaping holes where it doesn't.

I know that the same thing is happening in your neck of the woods so please fight the dismantling of democracy and democratic structures!

Regarding Doug Gansler and Maryland elections:

I would like to take one last day for now to speak to rebuilding Rule of Law and public justice in Maryland.  Today I will look at free and fair elections and election violations.  These are a good topic for Dan Rodricks show with Doug Gansler.

The first question has to do with eligibility to run for Governor of Maryland.  As Maryland Attorney General these two terms Doug has served at a period in America that needed justice for the largest looting of the US Treasury and American people pockets in US history.  The Bush/Obama Administrations are already labelled as the most corrupt in US history.  Doug Gansler has time and again signed off on settlements for fraud that all know were parking tickets and then found ways to make sure any penalties paid by corporations made it back to them through 'gifting' or development.  Meanwhile Doug famously says 'I see no fraud and corruption' as Center for Public Integrity ranks Maryland at the bottom for corruption and lack of transparency and other government watchdogs do the same for fraud.  A state does not have the honor of being ranked as one of the most criminal in the nation without the State Attorney General 'seeing no fraud and corruption'.  All government officials take an oath of office to serve in the public interest so turning your head to fraud and corruption is aiding and abetting these crimes.  THIS IS A FELONY.

Now, as a candidate for Governor of Maryland I am due equal access to public forums and debates put forward in Maryland by all 501c3-4 non-profits and democratic party machines.  I have many invitations across America but this is what I see quite often and most of it is illegal.  When the Baltimore Education Coalition has a debate of candidates for governor and does not invite Cindy Walsh for Governor-----the candidate from Baltimore----they have broken election campaign laws.  Who was part of that debate?  DOUG GANSLER FOR GOVERNOR.  Now, it is his job to stop this debate until it represents all democratic candidates.  I'll let the republicans put forward their own beef.  I was told the worst offender of this non-profit equal participation for candidates law are Maryland public media-----Maryland Public Television and Maryland Public Radio.  Both of these are 501c-3s getting taxpayer money that break these campaign laws every election-----AND DOUG GANSLER DOES NOTHING.  THIS IS HIS JOB.  Doug does not get to enforce only the laws he wants------THIS IS A RULE OF LAW ----EQUAL PROTECTION country.

So, we have political forums and debates happening across Maryland deliberately violating laws and doing so because they think they are protected from justice.  The second category of violations are the stealth debates and forums designed to circumvent the election laws by pretending a private non-profit is not behind these events.  Morgan State University has a public forum sponsored by 'a group of individuals' as does the Maryland NAACP, and the State Democratic Party has its statewide debates as 'Brown invites Gansler and Mizeur for a debate', another circumvention this time by the State Democratic Party.  The Young Democrats of Maryland had a debate and forum failing to invite Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland-----an illegal act.  Doug Gansler charged with enforcing election laws was there.

The last point has to do with campaign contributions and war chests collected by politicians who just 'cannot see fraud and corruption'.  When Doug Gansler selects how he will enforce law to protect corporate industries from billions of dollars in fraud and prosecutions......does that warrant a few million in industry contributions to his campaign?  Sounds like a good deal for these corporations and for Doug Gansler.

THIS IS CALLED PAY-TO-PLAY and it is illegal.
So, we have felonies right and left for one candidate for governor who seems able to receive time in Maryland media and with State Democratic Party machines.......but not for the candidates who are not felons and promote Rule of Law.  This is what makes Maryland and right now, the US, a second world heading for third world nation.  Rule of Law and Equal Protection does not allow selective enforcement of laws----this happens in Iran and Kenya.

You probably will not hear me on Maryland 'Public' Media this election cycle-----state tune for Cindy Walsh in court over election violations happening during this campaign hopefully in the capacity of Governor of Maryland!  One thing I do have is a private non-profit called Citizens Oversight Maryland that has more readership than public radio and many of the private non-profits excluding me.

These corporate neo-liberals in Maryland that control the democratic party work to make sure this control stays with wealth and profit candidates like Brown, Gansler, and Mizeur.  That is why these are the candidates you hear.  The citizens of Maryland are being subjected to the worst of social conditions created by suspended Rule of Law and dismantling of democratic structures but people of color will feel it most.  So, when institutions like Morgan State and Maryland NAACP work to keep my campaign out of this election debate......I being the only candidate who will actually protect black university funding and civil rights and liberties.....you see the corruption.

NEO-LIBERALISM = TOTALITARIANISM = THIRD WORLD SOCIETY.  America does not have to be about winners and losers and doing anything to win.  It is a democracy with a US Constitution that gives all citizens the same rights and protections!

The Restriction of Political Campaign Intervention by Section 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organizations

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity.  Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.

Certain activities or expenditures may not be prohibited depending on the facts and circumstances.  For example, certain voter education activities (including presenting public forums and publishing voter education guides) conducted in a non-partisan manner do not constitute prohibited political campaign activity. In addition, other activities intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process, such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not be prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner.

On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.

Cindy Walsh for Governor of Maryland has received many invitations to debates across Maryland this primary season.  The system is not completely corrupt.  You will see the major Democratic Party vehicles in Central Maryland/Baltimore are the ones violating election law and it is no coincidence that this is the area most filled with fraud and corruption in the state.

I introduced myself to the Young Democrats.  They have a requirement to see all candidates are invited.

Gubernatorial candidates make their cases to Young Democrats
Convention held in Annapolis

March 22, 2014|By Scott Dance and Carrie Wells, The Baltimore Sun

Maryland's Democratic candidates for governor made their cases to the party's youths Saturday, but for some, like Baltimore high school student Eric Brown, the race is still a tossup.

Brown criticized all three candidates. Of Attorney General Douglas Gansler, the Reginald F. Lewis High School senior said he liked hearing straightforward albeit long answers to questions. Del. Heather Mizeur? "She's an idealist," Brown said. And Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, he said, "had a hard time telling us what he's done."

The three candidates appeared at the Young Democrats' annual convention in Annapolis, answering questions from the young audience that focused largely on issues including higher education, jobs growth and marijuana policy. In a straw poll, Brown edged out Mizeur, with Gansler a distant third.

Each made the pilgrimage as their campaigns prepare for the June 24 primary that will decide which of them will be the favorite in the general election, in which Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 2-to-1 margin among voters.

Given a large number of students in the audience, each of the candidates weighed in on college affordability.

Mizeur suggested that the state step in where the federal government has backed off in support of financial aid, and possibly consider a "pay it forward" model adopted in Oregon in which students agree to pay a portion of their future salaries rather than paying tuition up front.

Asked about a Baltimore Sun editorial board proposal to cap tuition increases at 5 percent, instead of the 3 percent that Brown's campaign has pledged, and use the extra money for scholarships for needy students, Brown said his campaign was open to the idea.

"We have pivoted more and more to the need-based scholarships than ever before, but we need to continue to pivot there," Brown said.

Alicia Joynes, a Baltimore candidate for the Democratic State Central Committee and a 2008 Morgan State University graduate, asked Brown and running mate Ken Ulman, the Howard County executive, what their stance was on unfair program duplication affecting historically black colleges. The parties in a lawsuit on that issue are currently in court-ordered mediation.

"I don't think that policy is best made through the courts, so I'd like to see that removed from under the supervision of the court," Brown said. "We need to incentivize within our university system collaborations so that Towson and Morgan can collaborate on delivering a business school or whatever the program may be. ... What we don't do is look to the courts to settle matters. If this thing is not mediated by the time Ken and I take office, we're going to do everything we can to take it outside of mediation."

Gansler backed a "need-blind" admission process used at universities like Harvard and Yale in which students are accepted on their merits, and then financial aid packages are used to make it possible for all to afford tuition.

When one attendee challenged him for being conservative on business issues, Gansler also defended a proposal from his campaign to lower the state's corporate tax rate while collecting more from large corporations by enacting a tax policy known as combined reporting, saying it would support job growth in the state.

Much of Mizeur's education focus was on a push for universal pre-kindergarten, while she received the loudest crowd support for her calls to legalize marijuana. Attendee Dominique Hazzard called Mizeur "a breath of fresh air."

Ian Bonanno, a senior at Northern High School in Calvert County, said he thought it was clear Mizeur and Brown brought out supporters in large numbers, whereas a smaller and quieter crowd was present for Gansler's portion — circumstances perhaps reflected in the straw poll results.

"I think Heather was able to make the biggest impact," said Bonanno, who plans to volunteer for her campaign but is undecided on how he will cast his vote in June.

Below you see how a general invitation to all candidates for governor is easy to do.  It is not partisan, it is inclusive, and it does not violate election laws.  Doug Gansler will probably not be there.

The last point for now has to do with the consolidation of media in Baltimore and Maryland with the Baltimore Sun now having City Paper and all small regional news journals and the Daily Record going out of business.  We have no public media as that is corporate as well.  Now, I have for years commented in the Baltimore Sun as in all media in the area responding to Thomas Schaller and the columnists for the Sun at every turn.  Yet somehow the comment section for Schaller is disabled and no one can comment to his opinion pieces that are always neo-liberal/Clinton.

It doesn't matter if these columnists shout out for O'Malley, Hillary, Biden, or Cuomo-----they are all neo-liberal.  We hear Maryland is Clinton Country because she is the neo-liberal/neo-conservative darling----the mother of global corporate tribunals and Trans Pacific Trade Pact (TPP) that no one wants.  So, the citizens of Maryland are not for Hillary----the neo-liberals supporting global corporations and markets are.  Maryland media does not want this in the comment section going into 2016 elections and they are blocking me.

Free and fair elections must have avenues for all candidates for elections able to share their platforms and discuss the issues.  Voters need to know who the candidates on the ballot are when they go to vote.  In Maryland, if you are not part of the crony political machines.....whether democrat or republican.....you will not get name recognition.

RULE OF LAW WILL REQUIRE THE STATE AND CITY TO PROVIDE PUBLIC ELECTION FORUMS AND ISSUE DEBATES FOR ALL CANDIDATES.  A democracy requires that all citizens have access to issues and opportunity to join the political discussion.  Maryland has neither.

THOMAS SCHALLER AND BALTIMORE SUN----STOP BLOCKING COMMENTS AGAINST NEO-LIBERALS LIKE HILLARY CLINTON.

Your move, Governor
As his governorship comes to an end, Martin O'Malley can retire or seek higher office

Thomas F. Schaller

12:14 p.m. EDT, April 1, 2014

Is Martin O'Malley running for president in 2016? Should he?

The answer to both questions seems the same: Sort of.

Maryland's governor will finish his second term in January, the same week he turns 52. After serving as Baltimore mayor and Maryland governor, his career in elective politics may end at a very young age unless he runs for the presidency.

The major obstacle in Mr. O'Malley's path to the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination is Hillary Clinton. In fact, as the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination, she's every Democratic hopeful's obstacle. When the Sun polled Maryland Democrats in February, they preferred Ms. Clinton to their own governor by a 10-to-1 margin, 59 percent to 6 percent.

And don't bet on Ms. Clinton repeating in 2016 the strategic and tactical errors that ruined her 2008 presidential bid. Fool her once, shame on her. Fool her twice — not a chance. If she runs, she wins.

Ms. Clinton has yet to declare her candidacy, and maybe she'll opt not to run. Presuming she does seek the nomination, however, she has a small problem: She needs to actually beat somebody to claim it.

Victory by acclimation will be less satisfying for the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state than vanquishing a decent challenger. A contested primary is in her best interest.

Enter Mr. O'Malley, the Larry Holmes of 2016. If he's smart, Maryland's governor will declare his candidacy later this year — but before Ms. Clinton does — and then start raising money and a few eyebrows by serving as her sparring partner-to-be. Just as Muhammad Ali sharpened his boxing skills by sparring with Mr. Holmes, Mr. O'Malley can help Ms. Clinton stay sharp as she prepares for the general election.

He is ideally suited to the task.

Remember: Mr. O'Malley endorsed Ms. Clinton over Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary, a decision that partly insulates him from backlash from Camp Hillary. He's wonky in a way that will make the former first lady — who in 2008 was the policy steak to Mr. Obama's rhetorical sizzle — look dynamic. His lack of foreign policy experience will accentuate her international and diplomatic cred.

And with all the administrative problems of the Obamacare rollout, both nationally and here in Maryland, Mr. O'Malley is more likely to be on the defensive about health care than she. (Hard to believe the Hillarycare disaster was more than two decades ago, isn't it?)

Which is not to suggest Mr. O'Malley's job is to take an embarrassing political dive. He's stronger than Ms. Clinton on issues related to economic populism and inequality, which may force her to talk about these issues more cogently.

What possible benefit is there for Mr. O'Malley to play the role of primary sparring partner? That's pretty obvious: the vice presidential slot on the Clinton ticket.

He is ideally suited for that role, too.

If she runs and wins the nomination, Ms. Clinton could select a woman or racial minority to be her running mate. But the safe move is probably to choose a white male. Mr. O'Malley qualifies, and he would balance the ticket in other ways: Younger, a governor, a Catholic. Progressives will also be cheered by Mr. O'Malley's successful efforts to move Maryland leftward on issues ranging from gay marriage to college tuition to the death penalty.

Mr. O'Malley doesn't put any additional states into play for the Democrats: One of only three states where Mr. Obama's 2012 winning margin exceeded that of 2008, Maryland is already solidly Democratic. But so what? Most states are so reliably blue or red that vice presidential candidates are no longer expected to deliver their states' electors anyway. (Mitt Romney didn't carry Paul Ryan's Wisconsin, which not long ago was a swing state — third closest margin in 2000, closest in 2004.)

Mr. O'Malley wowed nobody with his address to the 2012 Democratic National Convention. If he wants to move to the next level, he must prove he can deliver a rousing speech, raise gobs of cash and artfully skewer the Republicans. Or he could quietly retire to private life.

Your move, Governor.

Supreme Court ruling could affect governor's race

The Supreme Court today struck down restrictions on the total that any person can contribute to all federal candidates for office.

By Erin Cox The Baltimore Sun 12:38 p.m. EDT, April 2, 2014

Maryland’s heated primary race for governor could get another twist if Wednesday's Supreme Court decision also strikes down the state’s cap on how much residents can donate to state political campaigns.

Minutes after the Supreme Court struck down aggregate contribution limits in federal races, Jared DeMarinis’ phone at the Maryland Board of Elections began ringing off the hook.

“Everyone wants to know: What does this mean?” said DeMarinis, director of campaign finance and candidacy.

“This one does have a direct impact on Maryland,” he said. “Maryland has one of the more restrictive aggregate limits in the nation.”

DeMarinis is still thumbing through a 40-page ruling to determine whether it could invalidate Maryland’s $10,000 per-person cap on political spending.

Limits about how much each candidate can receive from a donor remain in place, but the ruling could possibly allow donors who have already reached their aggregate limit for the election cycle to begin putting money into as many races as they want.

“The impact that this has is great, and because it's an election year, these questions need immediate answers,” he said.

The Board of Elections can’t unilaterally undo a law, but it could tell donors who have already reached the cap they are now free to donate more without facing state enforcement.

DeMarinis said he and lawyers with the attorney general’s office will review the ruling and issue a letter of guidance to donors and campaigns by April 11.

STOP THIS MADNESS AND RUN LABOR AND JUSTICE CANDIDATES AGAINST ALL NEO-LIBERALS IN PRIMARIES!

I want to continue with the need to shake the bugs from not only the democratic party.....neo-liberals, but the neo-liberal people heading our labor and justice organizations as well.

THERE IS NO REASON FOR ANYBODY TO BE SUPPORTING OBAMA AND CONGRESSIONAL NEO-LIBERALS....EVERYONE SEES THESE POLICIES PASSED ARE REPUBLICAN AND WORK FOR WEALTH AND PROFIT.

I have said that in Maryland labor and justice have a hard time since the political system is so crony and corporate that these groups sometimes feel they have to get along.  For example, Morgan State and other Historically Black Colleges in Maryland are being deeply defunded and threatened with closure so what should be a campus of dissent against the dismantling of the US Constitutions and the Bill of Rights is instead deliberately quiet and too supportive as with the Arne Duncan and public school privatization.  Labor unions have the same problem and make the same concessions because neo-liberals control Maryland Assemby and governor's office.

IF LABOR AND JUSTICE DO NOT MOVE NOW TO STOP THE PROGRESSION OF GLOBAL CORPORATE RULE....THERE WILL BE NO UNIONS AND WE WILL BE A THIRD WORLD COLONIAL SOCIETY WITH NO JUSTICE.  THIS IS NOT HYPERBOLE.  STOP CONCEDING!!!!!!

Below you see a blending of labor and justice that works.  The nurses unions know that the Affordable Care Act is bad for both labor and justice and have been protesting for the entire time the ACA was under development in Congress.  We thank them for continually shouting for Expanded and Improved Medicare for All and universal care.  NAACP and NAN support ACA to the end even though it is people of color hit hardest with lost access.

New York State Nurses Association's status.

Today we joined thousands of our allies at the Black, Latino, and Asian Legislative Caucus to fight for an end to the Healthcare Inequality that is hurting too many of our patients.

We'll be back on March 26 to fight for Safe Staffing and Healthcare for All. Like & Share if you'll join us! (22 photos)

This is what I am saying about changing leadership, not only getting rid of neo-liberals in the democratic party, but the labor and justice leaders aligned with these global corporate pols! UAW and AFL-CIO and others seem content to organize international union membership and allow all of the TPP and global markets to expand. WE WILL NOT HAVE A DEMOCRACY IF WE DO NOT RETURN TO A STRONG DOMESTIC ECONOMY!

I spoke of Baltimore's teacher's union and Maryland teachers feeling that their unions are not speaking for them.  Indeed, Baltimore's unions came out with a contract giving the members only the opportunity of three days to look at it and then vote.....no input.  The Boeing aerospace unions in Washington State are booting their leaders and demanding a redo on that Boeing contract because it was so bad for the members.  The Auto Workers union is saying the same for the vote at a Tennessee VW plant.  These union members are shaking the bugs from the rug as they understand there is too much cronyism happening with union leaders and neo-liberals who are not working for labor and justice.

https://www.facebook.com/alewitz/media_set?set=a.2987080833548.2157477.1157866386&UNIONS DON’T ORGANIZE WORKERS – WORKERS ORGANIZE UNIONS!

The defeat of the United Auto Workers union in TN cannot be laid solely at the actions of the employers - the business union policies of the UAW bureaucracy are also to blame.

Decades of immigrant bashing, sweetheart deals and reliance on Democratic Party politicians have been a betrayal of the membership and the working class as a whole. It is not surprising that workers are confused about why we need unions.

********************************************************
Below you see the difference some unions are making.....health care and teacher's unions are fighting for their members whereas trades and services are seeming to be on board with neo-liberals and global markets.  Keep in mind that when we had a domestic economy and not a global one.....auto workers were able to buy the cars they built as did the rest of the middle-class so auto manufacturers did not have to sell overseas.  Now, auto workers are often forced to lease cars if that as Ford and GM spend all their money expanding overseas. GM's financial arm is what blew the company up with subprime mortgage debt and it was spun off as a bank owing tons of money to taxpayers while the union workers had all their wages and benefits slashed.

WE DO NOT WANT UNIONS ACCOMMODATING THE GLOBAL MARKET WHEN THEIR MEMBERS ARE BEING IMPOVERISHED BY THAT GLOBAL MARKET.

From a union member:

Had a chat about the UAW disaster with Jane McAlevey, who points out that the UAW made its primary relationship with the boss, not the workers. They agreed to no housecalls, no conversations with workers. Also, not a word about politics, situating the fight in any larger struggle.

But (and these are my conclusions, but I doubt Jane would disagree) this is entirely the norm for mainstream union strategies. It's precisely the formula for defeat, but it never gets rethought.

The contrasts with the Chicago Teachers Union are stark. But the UAW and the rest of the gang won't touch that shit. Better to write big checks to Dems instead.

____________________________________________

Below you see how teachers stand with parents and students and shout loudly for everyone as well as their own rights.  In return, the communities support these teachers......well, not in Maryland right now!

As this article shows, strikes are critical for unions to have power in contract negotiation.  What we see in Maryland are neo-liberals dismantling union rights by forcing unions to sign PEACE AGREEMENTS....signing the right to strike away.  The Maryland AFL-CIO did that with building casinos in Maryland and Unite Here did it with hotel workers unions.  In addition, they allow the contract negotiations be done in arbitration instead of between employee and employer.  These arbitration committees are always packed with corporate-leaning members taking away labor's ability for a fair deal.
It is not in the member's interest to have these deals!

THIS IS HOW MARYLAND NEO-LIBERALS TREAT UNIONS WHEN THEY AREN'T PRIVATIZING THEM OUT OF EXISTENCE AND SOME UNIONS ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN AND SUPPORT THESE SAME POLS FOR ELECTION.

Ideally, the citizens of Maryland would run and vote forlabor and justice and get rid of these neo-liberals holding labor captive.  That is what we are shouting as ALL MARYLAND LABOR ARE UNDER ATTACK, public and private sector.

So, when the Maryland AFL-CIO stands with O'Malley and his protege Anthony Brown after time and again being made to concede....when Maryland AFSCME watches as everything public is handed to private contractors and all public pensions used as fodder for Wall Street......

and still stand behind those same neo-liberals doing this......

WE NEED A CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP OR THE UNION MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT TOLERATE THE LOSSES.

Strikes are still a really valuable way of exercising worker power!

We all know the arbitration process is biased because just as with the Ratings Agencies Moodys and S & P which committed fraud to give AAA ratings because they made more money in doing such.....so do these arbitration companies.  WHEN UNIONS AGREE TO PEACE AGREEMENTS AND ARBITRATION, THEY TAKE MOST BARGAINING POWER AWAY.

The Baltimore Teacher's Union actually agreed to a $1 increase for teachers.  That is pitiful.

We understand that union leaders are under pressure with the democratic voters re-electing neo-liberals working to kill labor and justice for profits.....

BUT DO NOT TURN AROUND AND GIVE THESE SAME POLS HEADLINES AS LABOR-FRIENDLY FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

Corporations Only Want Arbitration Fairness for Themselves, Not Workers
April 30th, 2009 | Paula Brantner

........................................

Moreover, the EFCA arbitration provisions apply to two entities that commonly utilize arbitration to resolve disputes (unions and employers) and have expertise in navigating the system.  The “repeat user bias” in employment arbitration has been well-documented, as arbitrators tend to favor the parties who are most likely to use their services again (which is rarely if ever the employee), and can be blacklisted if they are perceived as being too worker-friendly.  (See Alexander Colvin, Empirical Research on Employment Arbitration: Clarity Amidst the Sound and Fury?, Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal, Vol. 11, No. 2 (2007)).

So if employers truly think that arbitration is a better system than resolving disputes in court, then why are they fighting the EFCA provision?  You don’t have to be a cynic to realize that they’re inclined to fight any effort to level the playing field for workers, which the Employee Free Choice Act would do.  Just as they’re spreading the myth that EFCA would eliminate the secret ballot, it just comes naturally for them to confuse the public about the other EFCA provisions that would empower workers.

But if corporate America doesn’t want “a bureaucrat from Washington” to tell people how to run their businesses, then we have to wonder why they want arbitrators who are not even required to know the law or follow it passing judgment on their employment practices.  Essentially, companies are talking out of both sides of their mouth:  they want to impose an unfair arbitration process on their employees, but cannot bear to have even a fair arbitration process applied to them.

Maryland Unions Hit Jobs Jackpot with New Casinos
BY Bruce Vail

“We have a labor peace agreement with MGM, so I expect we will be moving pretty quickly to organize wall-to-wall,” Boardman tells Working In These Times. About 2,000 of the permanent casino workers are likely to be represented by Local 25, he says, with the remainder spread out among Teamsters Local 639, International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 99 and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 22. Similarly, the 2,000 temporary construction jobs are expected to be filled by union members linked to the Washington, D.C. Building Trades Council (AFL-CIO), a regional alliance of 15 union locals of electricians, ironworkers, painters, plumbers and others.

Anthony Brown is the same as O'Malley and both are raging neo-liberals and sold on Wall Street.  All unions in Maryland lose because of these pols.  O'Malley deliberately underfunded public pensions (FIRE, POLICE, TEACHERS) as Mayor and Governor and has allowed the pension fraud to stand even as sending them to 401Ks where they will be preyed upon by Wall Street even more.  Brown will do the same.  It was O'Malley/Brown forcing the peace agreements......that are pushing Race to the Top that kills teacher's unions.....that privatize all public services with outsourcing that often goes out of state or to any non-union contractor.

BROWN/ULMAN WILL KILL LABOR AS TPP-TYPE POLICIES EXPAND.  YET, THERE ARE THE UNION BACKING.  NOT ONE UNION/LABOR CANDIDATE IN THESE DEMOCRATIC RACES.  SO, UNIONS WORK TO ELECT NEO-LIBERALS WHO THEN KILL UNION MEMBERS WITH BAD POLICY.

AS WE REBUILD OUR DEMOCRACY AND DOMESTIC ECONOMY WITH RULE OF LAW AND JUSTICE.....WE NEED ALL GROUPS WORKING FOR LABOR AND JUSTICE TO SHAKE THE BUGS FROM THE RUG.  ALL DEMOCRATIC ORGANIZATIONS ARE CAPTURED BY NEO-LIBERALS AND NEO-CONS.  IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR OR WHITE,......MIDDLE-CLASS OR POOR......IF WE ALLOW THIS TOTALITARIAN GRIP TO GAIN HOLD OF OUR DEMOCRACY....EVERYONE WILL BE THE WORSE.

CLEAN UP LABOR AND JUSTICE LEADERS AS WE SHAKE NEO-LIBERAL POLITICIANS OUT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!

Regarding the captured labor and justice organizations in MD:

As my next post will show, Maryland and the Federal government has a capture of labor and justice leaders that work with Obama and Wall Street to advance the dismantling of all that is public and pushing a re-writing of TPP ending WE THE PEOPLE AND BILL OF RIGHTS.  As we work to restore democracy and rebuild our domestic economy now that global markets are dead from massive fraud and corruption,.....we need to look as well at the people placed in leadership positions that are not working for their membership......whether NAACP, NAN, CAN, Casa de Maryland, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.....or National Labor Union leaders who seem to think unions are now tied to Wall Street profit and work against the interest of their membership.

No one can blame a black leader for supporting Obama during the campaign.  Everyone assumed the US still had free and fair elections and that Obama's campaign platform would be his policy.  So, when NAACP and NAN for instance supported some of Obama's policies in the beginning the idea was that Obama was compromising to get something later.  Well, as soon as Obama loaded his Administration with Wall Street and Clinton....black leaders knew people of color were in trouble as were we all.  Yet, they are still shouting for Obama as black communities are under attack and having lost all civil rights and even rights as citizens.  Al Sharpton is Obama as is Donna Edwards and Rawlings-Blake here in Maryland.  Obama was named the most corrupt US President in history followed by Bush because of the neo-liberal/neo-con conspiracy to grab all the money and run----the world knows this so any pol still supporting Obama and his neo-con/neo-liberal policies is part of the corruption and hurt people of color.  Again, I want to guess that these black middle-class will be thrown under the bus when these rich, white 1% are through dismantling all democratic structures so

BLACK AND HISPANIC LEADERS ACTING LIKE WALL STREET SHILLS HAD BETTER WAKE UP!!!  WORKING WITH PEOPLE IGNORING CIVIL LIBERTIES/RIGHTS DOES NOT BODE WELL FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR.

I spoke earlier about attending a Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond meeting in Baltimore that was Baltimore Development Corporation and Hopkins with its many private non-profits.  Present were Casa de Maryland, the NAACP, Black Charities, and MECU with others.  Since I'm picking on leaders of color this time with labor unions next.....I will say that when I shouted at the meeting against a Baltimore Development that has no public input, that is steeped in fraud and corruption in using public taxpayer funds, and that allow wide-spread immigrant and domestic worker fraud and abuse throughout all Enterprise Zone development....THESE BLACK AND HISPANIC LEADERS ENRICHING THEMSELVES ON THIS ABUSE.....WERE SHAME-FACED.  Casa de Maryland reps hanging their heads and Black Charities reps feeling the pain of the victims of wide-spread abuse in city development.

WE NEED CITIZENS OF COLOR TO SHAKE THESE BUGS OUT OF THE RUG AS THEY ARE ONLY WORKING TO ENRICH THEMSELVES AT EVERYONE ELSE'S LOSS.  STOP ALLOWING THE BALTIMORE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MACHINE CHOOSE YOUR CANDIDATES----THEY ARE WORKING FOR NEO-CONSERVATIVE JOHNS HOPKINS FOR GOODNESS SAKE!  THEY ARE NOT DEMOCRATS!

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Casa de Maryland know, and are the ones abusing Hispanic immigrants.  These Hispanic leaders are the ones made rich from stealing immigrant wages and offering no workplace protection and Casa de Maryland backs all of Maryland's neo-liberals like Obama and O'Malley who are simply inviting Hispanics into the state and then turning their heads to the fleecing.

CASA DE MARYLAND KNOWS THE SENATE'S IMMIGRATION BILL IS BAD FOR IMMIGRANT AND DOMESTIC WORKERS AND YET, THERE THEY ARE SHOUTING TO PASS THIS IMMIGRATION REFORM.

I attend meetings where Casa de Maryland admits that what needs to be met for immigrants to see citizenship in moving further and further away and the compromises are tied to TPP, not what republicans force on neo-liberals.  THEY KNOW THIS IS A GAME FOR NEO-LIBERALS AND NEO-CONS AT THE EXPENSE OF PEOPLE OF COLOR AND THEY STILL GET OUT THE VOTE FOR THESE CORRUPT POLS.

NEO-LIBERALS AND NEO-CONS ARE THE FACE OF TPP AND GLOBAL CORPORATE TRIBUNALS AND WORK FOR WEALTH AND PROFIT-----NOT LABOR AND JUSTICE!!!!!

We appreciate the black leaders that are outing Obama and national black leaders that have been captured by Wall Street. If people of color do not stand up against captured leaders....whether black or Hispanic....TPP will end WE THE PEOPLE AND BILL OF RIGHTS and that will hurt all of us, but people of color the most!

There is not a person in the world who do not now know Obama and Eric Holder are the face of massive corporate fraud and corruption and aiding and abetting the fleecing of all middle-class and working class wealth.  They are why people lost their homes.....why police brutality and wide-spread immigration deportation is happening.  They are why no civil liberties/rights laws are enforced and why massive Medicare/Medicaid fraud, social services fraud, and Food Stamp fraud that takes all benefits from the poor occur.  THESE TWO ARE THE FACE OF ALL LOSS OF CITIZENSHIP RIGHTS FOR BLACKS AND HISPANICS.

Heavy-Hitting Obama Officials Kick Off This Year’s National Action Network Convention

Apr 6, 2012
By NewsOne Staff

Eric Holder and a cadre of heavy-hitting Obama Administration officials will kick off the annual National Action Network’s (NAN) national convention next week in Washington, D.C. Most of the panel discussions will focus on issues that voters, especially African-Americans, will have in mind when they step into ballot box come November.

The four-day convention, beginning Wednesday, April 11 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, is free and open to the public.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, President and Founder of NAN, has been particularly active this year in the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy. The convention’s “Criminal Justice” session, featuring President Barack Obama‘s former professor at Harvard Law School Dr. Charles J. Ogletree, will likely focus on Martin and other issues of injustice facing African-Americans. Alfred C. Liggins III, Chief Executive Officer of Radio One, will be featured in the “Media: Race & Politics” session along with Washington Post staff writers Jonathan Capehart and Nia-Malika Henderson, and other leading media professionals. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Radio One is the parent company of NewsOne.]

U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will lead back-to-back plenary sessions. With African-Americans ranking highest among the unemployed and those experiencing healthcare disparities, both sessions will give attendees the opportunity to hear from Obama’s top advisors. Six current cabinet members in total will participate in the convention.

While the Rev. Sharpton has enjoyed a close relationship with the President and his administration — Obama having kicked off his re-election campaign at last year’s NAN convention — Sharpton says that this year’s gathering isn’t meant to be a cozy get-together where Obama’s team can address convention attendees unchallenged.

“Otherwise, we’re just having a soundbite forum,” Sharpton said. “We determined when we started making the movement three years ago to stop the soundbites where everyone sits on the stage, give their best lines, and nothing happens. Our people need accountability and concrete progress.

“We do not need just… people with soundbites,” Sharpton continued, adding that if speakers were coming to simply spout platitudes, that “they ought to be in the rap industry not in civil rights work.”

We need people of color to shout out against neo-liberals......these are not democrats, they simply have captured the democratic party and it is captured Hispanic leaders being elected and acting just the same.

We all have to be better in choosing and voting for these candidates.  If you  run good people from your community in these primaries to get rid of the wealth and profit pols......

WE CAN TURN THIS AROUND!

Hispanics are tired of Obama’s lip service on immigration reform

By Hispanic Link on January 30, 2014

For Borderzine from Hispanic Link

WASHINGTON – WE’RE STILL WAITING:  Cecilia Muñoz, longtime vice president of the National Council of La Raza whose appointment in Jan. 20, 2009, to President Obama’s initial cabinet was seen as a payoff to the Hispanic community for its huge role in Obama’s winning a front-door key to the White House.
Cecilia Muñoz, Assistant to the President and Director of the Domestic Policy Council. (www.whitehouse.gov)

Cecilia Muñoz, Assistant to the President and Director of the Domestic Policy Council. (www.whitehouse.gov)

This, we and many others innocently believed, would ensure that el presidente nuevo would move quickly to make good on his repeated promises to end our undocumented immigrant agony by delivering genuine immigration reform legislation.

Did he?

Of course not.

Back then and frequently thereafter, we heard that Obama’s key non-Hispanic inner brain trust, including current Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, insisted that political expediency required him to reduce his reform priorities to one. Choose it:  a decent, legitimate immigration bill or healthcare reform.

For obvious reasons, health care won. The Latino community’s welfare was reverted to its accustomed position at the tag-end of the line.

Could both goals have been achieved? We’ll never know.

As consolation prize, 53 million U.S. Latinos and Latinas have been awarded more Obama lip service and a basically nativist Senate immigration bill.

An increasing number of Latino ex-believers now have figured out that the White House has betrayed them.

The Obama administration continues by the hour to add to its record of deporting more refugees – predominantly Hispanic ones – than has any past president in our “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free” history.

The President’s current diabolic catch-and-ship-out strategy tore nearly two million productive immigrant families to shreds in 2012. He would like us to believe that his “racist” Republican adversaries are the real cause of his inhumane inaction.

Now he has lateraled the initiative to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), who wants to spend billions more to lock shut our border with Mexico and piece-meal immigration reform to death. He has shown zero interest in permitting the 11 million undocumented immigrants drawn here ever to become U.S. citizens with a right to vote.

On cue, Cecilia Muñoz, now promoted to Obama’s domestic policy director, gushes the Administration’s joy. She tells the press, “It’s a very big deal.”

Over time, Cecilia’s Casa Blanca position calls on her to do little more than appease fellow Hispanics. She covers Obama’s tracks as his lack of ganas or cojones even drives innocent, born-in-the-USA children “back” to countries where they’ve never been as he imprisons and deports their already exploited parents.  He allows our desert floors to be carpeted with refugees’ bones.

Muñoz’s familial roots trail back to La Paz, Bolivia. Does her fealty to her boss and her White House title, with its $172,000 paycheck, trumps that?

New Americans know as the article above states that something stinks in Denmark and Maryland is ground zero for the immigrant stink.  Immigrants are marching in the streets giving testimony to how bad the state of the state for immigrants in Maryland and Casa de Maryland is never there!!!  It is always behind O'Malley, Rawlings-Blake, and as you see Anthony Brown....

THE WORST WALL STREET SHILLS IN THE NATION. NEO-LIBERALS ARE TRYING TO END THE US CONSTITUTIONAL BILL OF RIGHTS AND WE THE PEOPLE GOOD FOR ALL AND THESE LEADERS THINK THAT WILL WORK FOR HISPANICS?  OF COURSE NOT. GET RID OF THESE HISPANIC LEADERS.

Yet here you see a shout out for the most repressive city in the country......A COMPANY TOWN IS NOT THE LAND OF THE FREE! Where you can get a job but don't expect to actually get paid for doing it!  Remember, having immigrants with drivers licenses is not for the person and justice....it is so immigrants can be expolited in more job categories for goodness sake.

THIS IS PURE PROPAGANDA!!!

Anthony Brown is O'Malley and we all know that O'Malley is a raging Wall Street pol.  Yet here is Casa de Maryland lining up Wall Street votes. I think Hispanics have figured out that the Dream Act was for TPP's flooding of the US labor market with immigrants from around the world and not so much with Hispanics.

2012 National Immigration Integration Conference

September 23rd, 2012
Baltimore, MD

Good morning.  It’s great to be with you.  How many of you are visiting our great city and State from out of state?

Awesome.  Well, we’re glad you’re here. Welcome to Maryland and to Baltimore, the greatest city in America.

We are the original land of the free and the home of the brave.  And it was in our waters out there in our port that that national anthem was penned, and I’m going to come back to that in a second.

But let me say a very special word of thanks right off the bat to the National Partnership for New Americans, and to our host, Gustavo Torres, and everybody that works with CASA de Maryland.  Thank you very, very much.

Thanks in particular for the very important work that CASA does, and that the Partnership is accomplishing throughout our country and, of course, here in our State,… helping to empower our neighbors and helping to reinvigorate the American dream.

You know, in my first term we created a Council for New Americans and they did some great work.  Tom Perez was our Secretary of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, and he went on to become a prominent member of the Obama Administration in the Justice Department, as have many of our cabinet members.  I regret that I have but one cabinet to give to my country.

But among the recommendations for the Maryland Council for New Americans were workforce recommendations on improving licensing, credentialing, and the like.  Another one was citizenship recommendations, creating a more robust network to allow people who can apply for citizenship to apply for citizenship.  Financial services recommendations, because we saw the way the sub-prime market was affecting so many new American families,… and also Government access recommendations.

And one intervening force that happened in the meantime was a couple of years ago, two legislative sessions ago, we passed a State version of the Dream Act in our legislature.

And now that is up on the ballot, because those who were afraid of the Dream Act got up the signatures to petition it to the ballot.  I know that there are other states that have had some version of the Dream Act when it comes to in-State tuition for immigrant children.  This is the first one, I believe, that’s ever actually gone to the ballot, where the people will be asked straight-up what kind of country they want their children to live in and inherit.

Let me share with you a quick story, since Gustavo got me in a, you know, memory lane sort of thing.

I was running for re-election in 2010, after having created the Council for New Americans, and after doing some good work, including driving way down the infant mortality rate among Latino moms, which had been spiking in our State until we attacked that and did a better job of reaching out.

But in the debates with my opponent in 2010, one of the final televised debates, he was mocking me—can you believe it—for using the term New Americans.  And as I recall the moment, he, with a sneer, and with his in-house studio audience partly packed with people that were as like-minded as he was, he said, New Americans—New Americans, with a sneer.  He said, “When someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night, do you call them a new family member?”

I knew that the second he said that that Anthony Brown and I would get 99.9 percent of all New Americans in the State of Maryland.

And, in fact, we did.  The first time out we had been victorious by a seven point margin.  Four years later it was a fourteen point margin.

And I’m absolutely convinced that a part of that victory was attributable to the very clear difference between the two visions that we offer the people of our State.  One was a vision of an America that’s shrinking, where there are less opportunities, and where we’re moving back.  The other was a vision of an America that’s always growing and expanding more opportunities and moving forward.

From our founding we have always been a State, even when others were falling back, that chooses to move ahead.

So your work is important to that life-changing opportunity, expanding, dream-achieving work that is at the heart of the American dream.  It is the work that bolsters the U.S. economy and also our country’s fiscal situation through the $90 billion that immigrants pay in taxes throughout our country year after year.

That’s one of the few times you’ll ever use a tax line as an applause line, but we’ll make the most of it.

It is work that we believe in here in Maryland.  In 2008, as I mentioned, we created the Council for New Americans.  And  I wanted to talk with you today about a truth that really lies at the heart of the American Dream and it is this—the stronger we make our country, the more she gives back to us, and the more she gives back to our children and our grandchildren.

I mentioned before that it is fitting and right and proper that you’re here, since we’re 45 days away from passing the Dream Act, but you also arrived here during the Bicentennial of the War of 1812.  And as Governor here, it is my official duty to encourage you to spend as much money in our economy seeing the sights as possible.

And one of those sights is just down at the end of the peninsula, you go down right here on Light Street, take a left on Fort Avenue and take it until it takes you right directly into the front gates of Fort McHenry.

In 1814 Washington had been burned to the ground, the people of Baltimore could see the glow from the fires coming up from the south—from the direction over Camden Yards.  And then the British General at the top said that he was going to march on Baltimore, he was going to dine in Baltimore—because even then we had great restaurants—and then he was going to burn Baltimore to the ground.

But the people of Baltimore had something else in mind.  Instead of running away, they hunkered down.  Instead of moving back, they rushed forward to Fort McHenry, to the ramparts there, they dug trenches across what is current-day Patterson Park.  And, get this, 50 percent of the defenders of Baltimore were immigrants, had not even been born in this country.  Many were African American citizens of a still very imperfect, slave-holding country.

The Star Spangled banner—that giant, giant flag that they had commissioned by Mary Pickersgill, a woman-owned business in Baltimore, and her daughters. There was another little set of hands that sewed that flag together, and they were the hands of Grace Wisher, a 13 year old indentured African American servant girl.

So your very flag, the stars and stripes, were sewn together by black and white hands; hands of bondage, hands of freedom.  And I would submit to you that the common thread that held those stars and stripes together is the same common thread that holds us together now, and it is the thread of human dignity.

Is it the dignity of work, it is the dignity of a job, it is the dignity of every child’s home, and it is the dignity of every individual.

We progress on the strengths, not on the weakness of our neighbors.  That, too, is an American truth.  We move forward when we expand opportunity to more people, rather than to fewer, regardless of where they or their grandparents or parents happen to have been born.

And with this in mind, you picked this ideal time to come here.  The Dream Act is on the ballot here in November.  Often throughout our State’s history, we have been the State that first sets the example. And I believe that we will do so with the Dream Act.   Why it is important?  I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but as Dr. Martin Luther King once said, sometimes it’s “it’s important that you preach to the choir because if you don’t, they could stop singing.”

So the Dream Act is important, because in our changing world, our ability to create jobs and move our country forward depends on our willingness to educate, innovate and rebuild for our future and our children’s future.

Back in the 1880′s, in Baltimore when we were seeing successive waves of German immigrants coming to Baltimore, the leading mothers and fathers of Baltimore created some 15 public elementary schools that taught reading and math in German.  Why did they do that?  Well, because they were decent people, yes.  But they also were people of pragmatic, practical common sense. They knew that these immigrant children would be inheriting this country, along with their own children.  And they wanted their children to grow up in a country that was stronger, more inclusive, with more opportunities and higher levels of education, because they understood the more highly educated a citizenry, the more economic opportunity for everyone.

So we need your help.  As you leave here today, as you go back to take that break in your hotel room before going off with your friends to see Fort McHenry, I’d like you to help us here with the Dream Act by going online and encouraging people to contribute to the campaign.  Right now we’re running at about 57 percent, some polls would say higher.  But it is not over until it’s over.  And we need your help.

You know, in a very real sense, because of the blood we share, not only with one another, but the blood we share with our parents and grandparents, we were all once strangers in a strange land.   My parents’ grandparents were mostly all immigrant people, Irish and Germans, and their first language might not have been English—but the hopes and dreams they had for their children, they were purely American.

And so, too, are the hopes and dreams of Marylanders like my friend Maria Welch, the daughter of new American parents who came to the United States from Costa Rica and Columbia.  And at one time Maria was homeless.  Today she’s the CEO of a $10 million small business, located in Columbia, Maryland.  Her business has served more than 24,000 patients.  In 2008, I had the distinct honor of swearing her in as Chair of the Governor’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs.

Second story.  The American dream is also woven in our State through the story and the actions and the hard work of Prem Agarwal.  Prem came to the United States from India in 1967 with a suitcase and $1,000 to his name.  A few years later, while working for a grocery company, he tried unsuccessfully to convince his employer to build an ice manufacturing plant in Maryland.  And when they declined to do so, he decided to do it himself.  And for the next 10 years he ran a successful ice manufacturing business.  Today he is President and CEO of a successful lumber and tire company in Prince George’s County, Maryland, called G.E. Frisco.

Third story.  The American dream is also a story told in the healing innovation of a Maryland company called Fyodor, which was launched by Dr. Eddy Agbo.  Dr. Agbo is an immigrant from Nigeria.  Fyodor is working on cost effective ways to test for malaria, reminding us all that our greatness as a people isn’t about how many smart bombs we’re able to send against our enemies half way around the globe, it is determined by how and to what degree we can unleash the weapons of mass salvation, to heal these sorts of diseases that take so many lives, especially of children all around the world, that we have the power and the ability, as Americans, to actually cure and solve and prevent.

In conclusion, we live in changing times, and that is undeniable.  The question is what sort of change will we make of it?  As we search for the good intentions of our neighbors, especially those who might disagree with us about policy choices that we need to make together for a better country,… as we search for common ground and a better way forward, we need to ask one another—including the leaders of the Republican party—we need to ask without any anger, meanness or fear, how much less do you really think would be good for our country?

How much less education would be good for our children?  How many fewer college degrees will make our economy more competitive?  How much less public safety would improve living in our towns and cities?  How many family farms can we no longer afford to save?  How many hungry American children can we no longer afford to feed?

Our parents and grandparents did not come across an ocean, settle a continent and do hard, back-breaking, oftentimes life-threatening work, so their children and grandchildren could live in a country of less.

America is not a country of less opportunities, America is a country of more opportunities. The opportunity to work, the opportunity to build up a secure and more loving home.  The opportunity to give your own children a better future.

And the United States of America, despite some of those who would doubt it, is still the greatest job-generating opportunity-expanding country ever created by a free people in the history of civilization.

And that is true, not despite new Americans—that is true because of new Americans.   That is true--

That is true not despite immigrant people, but because of immigrant people.  That is true not because of those who would have some of us live in the shadows of darkness, but it is true because of the heart that every human being possesses, and the desire we have to raise our children in the fullness and the life of opportunity, where they can become all that they can be.

That’s what America is about.  That’s why the Star Spangled Banner was defended. And that’s why the Stars and Stripes is still stitched together today by the thread of human dignity that each of you sews into the fabric of a great and growing nation.

Thanks very, very much.

Have you heard Maryland State Assembly people from Baltimore....lately Barbara Robinson and Jill Carter shouting with their media headlines......PEOPLE ARE DYING FROM LACK OF ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE!    Of course they are Barbara and Jill.....that is what the Affordable Care Act is about.....ending public health and making sure health industry profits soar from lack of access to ordinary medical procedures for most citizens.

From Race Men to Debased Men, Obama at Morehouse, Arne Duncan at Morgan State

Tue, 05/07/2013 - 22:04 — Bruce A. Dixon

A Black Agenda Radio Commentary by BAR managing editor Bruce A. Dixon

Back in the day, the “race men” and women, graduates of America's historically black colleges and universities imagined it was their duty to stand and lift up the interests of African Americans and their communities as a whole. If the choice of commencement speakers means anything, that's not what HBCU leaders expect of their graduates nowadays. It's not about fighting the power, it's about serving that power.

From Race Man to Debased Man, Obama at Morehouse, Arne Duncan at Morgan State

A Black Agenda Radio Commentary by BAR managing editor Bruce A. Dixon

A good friend in Atlanta observed that when President Bush used to visit, his inbox would be flooded with alerts and notices about vigils, picket lines and demonstrations. But when the current president comes to town, there's nothing.

President Obama will punctuate the commencement at Atlanta's Morehouse College next week. The only ripple that's made news is whether some preacher who criticized the president for not making enough black appointments to elite high offices should be allowed to set foot on campus that weekend. Commencement week, Morehouse officials solemnly say, is about the graduates, not politics.

At Morgan State University, another historically black institution of higher learning in Baltimore, Obama's basketball buddy and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan is scheduled to deliver the commencement address. There's not much publicly visible dissent behind that either, despite the fact that President Obama's Race To The Top program has closed and privatized more public schools than any other president in US history, and Arne Duncan chucks that spear. Baltimore is reportedly closing 32 schools in the near future while building only 15 new ones. One wonders whether Baltimore and Morgan State would be protesting if the same destructive policies were forced upon them by a white president without the soothing presence of a compliant black political elite as intermediaries.

There's no shortage of of pressing issues at Morgan State, Maryland state delegate Jill P. Carter informed Black Agenda Report. The school is suing the state of Maryland and its Democrat governor, charging that the state's historically black colleges and universities have been chronically underfunded. According to Carter, HBCUs across the country are watching and waiting to file similar suits if this one succeeds.

“There's no shortage of bright, successful HBCU alumni who could deliver powerful, inspiring commencement address,” said Carter. “It's too bad Morgan State didn't go there instead.”

Delegate Carter has a point. It is too bad. What it's not is the least bit surprising.

The leaders of Morgan State University, of Morehouse College and many similar institutions are not really leaders at all, not the way the old style “race men” and women supposed themselves to be once upon a time, standing up and lifting up all our people. They are followers, members of a black misleadership class which values conformity, silence and careers over courageous advocacy and struggle, and prizes individual enrichment over investment in a community's collective wealth and power.

The race men have become debased men, unable even to stand up for the interests of their own institutions, let alone for public education, or against gentrification, or the interests of African Americans as a whole. Commencement addresses for them are not about inspiring the graduates about to go forth into the world and accomplish things about which their elders can only dream. They're about genuflecting to power and repeating the stale old narratives that validate and justify our class of elite black misleaders.

REMEMBER COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AS AN OBAMA CAMPAIGN PLUS?  WE DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS AN AUTOCRATIC ORGANIZING!  USING PRIVATE NON-PROFITS TO END THE PUBLIC SECTOR!

Obama is creating a number of non-profits most of which are designed to go into underserved communities and convince them that his policies ending the War on Poverty and New Deal are good for them.  Race to the Top and Affordable Care Act, Immigration Reform and TPP.  I heard last week Obama was sending in a non-profit that taught inner city children to have integrity.  THIS FROM THE LYING, CHEATING, STEALING COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF.  Indeed, these private non-profits are filling underserved communities and I have yet to find one working class or poor person that wants these groups.

THIS IS PURE PROPAGANDA AND IT IS DESIGNED TO CONTROL IDEAS AND COMMUNICATIONS IN POOR COMMUNITIES.

Obama campaign creating nonprofit to support president's agenda
Obama campaign non-profit:

President Barack Obama's campaign manager Jim Messina tours the floor at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 3, 2012.

The president is transforming his presidential campaign operation into a nonprofit that will promote his second-term agenda.

WASHINGTON — In an unprecedented move, President Barack Obama's vaunted political organization is being turned into a nonprofit group — funded in part by corporate money — to mobilize support behind the president's second-term agenda.

The tax-exempt organization will be called Organizing for Action and seek to harness the energy of Obama's re-election campaign for future legislative fights. Officials said the group will be separate from the Democratic National Committee and advocate on key policy issues such as gun control and immigration, train future leaders and devote attention to local issues around the country.

"Following in the footsteps of the campaign you built, Organizing for Action will be an unparalleled force in American politics," Obama said in an email to supporters Friday. "It will work to turn our shared values into legislative action, and it'll empower the next generation of leaders in our movement."

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina will serve as the group's national chairman, and White House official Jon Carson is leaving the administration to become its executive director. Democratic officials familiar with the group said the organization plans to accept donations from individuals and corporations — and disclose their identities — but not take money from lobbyists and political action committees, a move in line with donor rules set up for the president's inaugural committee. It will have offices in Washington and Chicago, the officials said.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the plans in advance of a public announcement on Friday.

Messina said in separate email to supporters that the group would support Obama "in creating jobs and growing the economy from the middle out, and in fighting for issues like immigration reform, climate change, balanced deficit reduction, and reducing gun violence."

Coming just days before Obama's second inauguration, the move represents the first time a sitting president has ever transformed his presidential campaign operation into an outside group with the express purpose of promoting his agenda.

Obama campaign aides and volunteers are expected to discuss the group at a conference on Sunday focused on the future of the campaign organization and the president's legacy.

The group's board of directors will include several former White House and campaign aides, including former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, top campaign officials Stephanie Cutter, Jennifer O'Malley-Dillon and Julianna Smoot, Obama campaign adviser and Democratic strategist Erik Smith and Frank White, a businessman and prominent Obama donor.

White House aide David Plouffe, the 2008 campaign manager, is expected to join the board after he leaves the administration later this month.

Obama's political apparatus, which paired traditional grassroots techniques with cutting-edge technology, was groundbreaking when it was created for the 2008 campaign. It signed up legions of backers, collected information about them and linked them to each other through the Internet. It also used sophisticated new tools — and mounds of data it had culled — to identify sporadic or new voters, and ensure they turned out on Election Day.

Huge numbers of minority, young and first-time voters went to the polls to carry Obama to victory.

After he won, Obama decided to house the backbone of his campaign — his massive email list, which at the time included roughly 12 million to 13 million contacts, its technological functions and its network of neighborhood team leaders — at the DNC, which historically has served as the president's political arm.

The grass-roots mobilizing and fundraising operation was dubbed Organizing for America, and it sought to marshal support for Obama's health care overhaul during the first term. But it struggled to have much impact on the divisive debate and essentially became a campaign-in-waiting for Obama ahead of his re-election race.

When Obama launched his 2012 campaign, he had a full-scale political operation at the ready. It raised more than $1 billion and used high-tech tools to identify supporters and turn them out in droves. He also used it to mobilize grassroots supporters behind efforts to extend the payroll tax cut, federal student aid benefits and recent efforts to raise taxes on the wealthy.

Since Obama's re-election, one question in Democratic circles has been whether Obama would turn over his operation to the DNC to build the party for the future — or whether he would use it to protect his legacy.

After surveying its members, Obama's re-election campaign team considered housing the organization within the DNC but decided to become a nonprofit because it was the best way for campaign volunteers to stay together as a group and advocate for issues they care about.

Yet the decision to be separate from the DNC could rile some Democrats who have grumbled that the president was more interested in protecting his own "brand," in political speak, than in building the party.

The group will be a 501 (c) (4) under the federal tax code, which grants tax-exempt status as long as organizations are not primarily involved in activity that could influence an election. As a nonprofit, it could run ads advocating support for an issue but could not be involved in political activity aimed at electing Democratic candidates.

Campaign finance experts said the creation of a nonprofit group with close ties to the president could raise questions about how donations from corporations might influence federal policy. Craig Holman, who lobbies on ethics and campaign finance for the watchdog group Public Citizen, said if the group receives corporate and special interest money, it could "pose some very serious problems."

The decision by the group to accept corporate donations also reflects Obama's shifting stance on campaign finance. He criticized pay-for-access activities during his first campaign and was a vocal opponent of "super" political action committees, which can raise and spend unlimited funds to help candidates. Obama later signed off on Democrats creating super PACs when he faced tens of millions of dollars in spending by allies of his Republican campaign challengers.

I wanted to take today to look at what many people will consider dry and boring.....yet it is what makes you and I citizens.....civics 101 is knowing your Constitution and what your elected officials are legally bound to do in your name.  What I have shown is that none of this is happening at the Federal, state, or local level.

YOU CANNOT BE A CITIZEN IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CONSTITUTION AND DO NOT HOLD YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS RESPONSIBLE.  STOP BEING A COUCH POTATO.....WAKE UP.....AND GET ENGAGED!!!!!

Regarding Maryland acting as if TPP is already in force:

Now that everyone knows that neo-liberals have as a goal to end national sovereignty and create a system of City States in the US with global corporations running these fiefdoms......Johns Hopkins obviously being the Medici of our region, its good to know all of this can and will be reversed as all of it was built with a suspension of Rule of Law, Equal Protection under Law, and elections of politicians knowing acting against the public's interest....politicians are public servants required to work in the public's interest our they are committing public malfeasance.

Today I would like to give a brief civics lesson on State Constitutions to show how the state of Maryland politics today has absolutely no legal and Constitutional standing as public officials are openly allowing massive fraud and corruption permeate the business and government systems in the state and where all public policy is now written by corporate interests in the guise of quasi-governmental organizations I am sure are not legal in and of themselves.  The public has been locked out of public debate, writing public policy, and even have private corporate-run non-profits running our communities.  NONE OF THIS IS LEGAL------IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL -------AND THE PUBLIC ASSETS AND WEALTH BEING LOST THROUGH THE NEGLECT OF RULE OF LAW CAN AND WILL COME BACK.

What this means is that Johns Hopkins does not get to run the Baltimore region.  It does not get to write law, to have politicians hand all that is public into the hands of Johns Hopkins, or to openly allow massive fraud and corruption keep we the people and our government coffers empty.  ALL OF THIS IS ILLEGAL AND CAN BE REVERSED.

So, Johns Hopkins as VEOLA ENVIRONMENT taking control of water and waste......Johns Hopkins as Port of Baltimore taking all control of Inner Harbor commerce.....Johns Hopkins as public health taking control of all health care administration with no public transparency or input ................ Johns Hopkins taking control of all public education and schools with corporatization policy that sends profit directly to Hopkins-related education businesses........and Johns Hopkins as solicitor and installer in chief of national private corporate non-profits taking control of all aspects of public policy with directors in place to support all policy moved by the Hopkins-run Baltimore Development Corporation.

FOLKS......IT LOOKS AS IF IT IS DAUNTING TO TAKE CONTROL BACK FROM WHAT WE CAN A GREAT BLOOD-SUCKING SQUID WITH TENTACLES AROUND EVERYTHING.....BUT IT IS EASY PEASY.

All we have to do is break up the political machines in Baltimore and Maryland that keep these henchmen and women in office allowing all of this consolidation and control to be taken.  ALL OF MARYLAND'S POLS ARE NEO-LIBERALS...THEY ARE NOT DEMOCRATS AND WE SIMPLY NEED TO RUN AND VOTE FOR LABOR AND JUSTICE IN ALL ELECTIONS.....STOP ALLOWING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MACHINE IN THE STATE TO CHOOSE YOUR CANDIDATES WHILE IT IS CONTROLLED BY NEO-LIBERALS!

THESE POLITICIANS ARE SWORN TO SERVE THE PUBLIC!

You do not need to be a rocket scientist to know that handing all that is public to consolidated private hands at great loss to the public and a suspension of Rule of Law with no public justice is NOT IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND ALL CONTRACTS SIGNED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE NULL AND VOID.  So, handing the Port of Baltimore and all its tens of billions in profit once coming to the state and now going to HighStar's leading shareholder Johns Hopkins.....NOT LEGAL.
NO CONTRACT DOING THAT IS LEGAL.

Handing all of the region's water and waste to VEOLA ENVIRONMENT with HighStar's leading shareholder Johns Hopkins ........NOT LEGAL.  NO CONTRACT DOING THAT IS LEGAL.

Billions of dollars lost to the State of Maryland and City of Baltimore from massive and systemic fraud and corruption for years and years.....NO STATUTES OF LIMITATION BECAUSE GOVERNMENT SUSPENDED RULE OF LAW AND EQUAL PROTECTION.

Now, if you look at Maryland's

WIKILEAKS
Malfeasance in office, or official misconduct, is the commission of an unlawful act, done in an official capacity, which affects the performance of official duties. Malfeasance in office is often grounds for a for cause removal of an elected official by statute or recall election.

CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND

DECLARATION OF RIGHTS. We, the People of the State of Maryland, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious liberty, and taking into our serious consideration the best means of establishing a good Constitution in this State for the sure foundation and more permanent security thereof, declare:

Article 1. That all Government of right originates from the People, is founded in compact only, and instituted solely for the good of the whole; and they have, at all times, the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their Form of Government in such manner as they may deem expedient.

Art. 2. The Constitution of the United States, and the Laws made, or which shall be made, in pursuance thereof, and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, are, and shall be the Supreme Law of the State; and the Judges of this State, and all the People of this State, are, and shall be bound thereby; anything in the Constitution or Law of this State to the contrary notwithstanding.

Art. 4. That the People of this State have the sole and exclusive right of regulating the internal government and police thereof, as a free, sovereign and independent State

Art. 6. That all persons invested with the Legislative or Executive powers of Government are the Trustees of the Public, and, as such, accountable for their conduct: Wherefore, whenever the ends of Government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the People may, and of right ought, to reform the old, or establish a new Government; the doctrine of non-resistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Art. 7. That the right of the People to participate in the Legislature is the best security of liberty and the foundation of all free Government; for this purpose, elections ought to be free and frequent; and every citizen having the qualifications prescribed by the Constitution, ought to have the right of suffrage (amended by Chapter 357, Acts of 1971, ratified Nov. 7, 1972). Art. 8. That the Legislative, Executive and Judicial powers of Government ought to be forever separate and distinct from each other; and no person exercising the functions of one of said Departments shall assume or discharge the duties of any other.

Art. 9. That no power of suspending Laws or the execution of Laws, unless by, or derived from the Legislature, ought to be exercised, or allowed. Art. 10. That freedom of speech and debate, or proceedings in the Legislature, ought not to be impeached in any Court of Judicature.

Art. 18. That no Law to attaint particular persons of treason or felony, ought to be made in any case, or at any time, hereafter. Art. 19. That every man, for any injury done to him in his person or property, ought to have remedy by the course of the Law of the Land, and ought to have justice and right, freely without sale, fully without any denial, and speedily without delay, according to the Law of the Land.

Keep in mind that it is the Governor and the Mayor of Baltimore charged with assembling a legal team to serve the interests of the public.  It is the same who would shout loudly and strongly if a State or City Attorney could not see fraud.  Could you imagine massive fraud and corruption going without justice if O'Malley and Rawlings-Blake used their bully-pulpit to out the AIDING AND ABETTING of crime?  Of course not.  So, these are the two executive offices that are failing to serve and as such are guilty of malfeasance.  If the entire system is corrupt what does a citizenry do?  First, make sure these executive positions are working for you and me.

The next problem for citizens at both the national and state/local level is the suspension of public justice.  Now, Congress and the Maryland Assembly can cut funding to public justice but as we all know RECOVERING CORPORATE FRAUD PAYS FOR ITSELF....NO FUNDING NEEDED.  So, while O'Malley and the Maryland Assembly pretends to fund public justice in the form of paying private lawyers to do PRO-BONO WORK.....which is where all the state's funding goes for public justice......the National Lawyers Guild....with state and local offices are supposed to be protecting WE THE PEOPLE against all of what I speak.

The Maryland Bar Association is so corrupt that if you look at all the fraud that happens in the state....it is the lawyers in the state getting much of the wealth.  Subprime mortgage loan fraud with MERS at the center?  Mostly involving Maryland Bar lawyers.

Now, every single Maryland Bar lawyer is not crooked of course, but to practice law in Maryland you must be a member of the Maryland Bar and as we know.......THERE IS NO PUBLIC JUSTICE COMING FROM EITHER THE NATIONAL LAWYERS GUILD OR THE MARYLAND BAR.
Also remember, that the judge appointed by O'Malley and the Maryland Assembly nominating committee are choosing from this Maryland Bar population for the positions.  When you have a corporate state enforcing law selectively as if corporations run the state.....then the lawyers and judges will run their offices as such.

YET, NONE OF THIS IS LEGAL.  LAWYERS CANNOT SIMPLY SUSPEND US CONSTITUTIONAL LAW TO PRETEND A COUP AGAINST THE US CONSTITUTION WITH PACIFIC TRADE DEALS IS ALLOWED AND THEN FOLLOW THOSE TRADE DEAL LAWS....WHICH IS WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MARYLAND BEFORE THE TPP IS EVEN PASSED.

Judges who knowingly facilitate unconstitutional law with rulings that pretend to be subjective when they are completely re-writing law are doing so illegally.  DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THAT THE MERS OPERATION IN MARYLAND'S WASHINGTON SUBURBS WAS A LEGAL METHOD OF TRANSFERRING HOUSE TITLE?  ABSOLUTELY NOBODY BELIEVES THAT and this needs to be appealed to higher court.  This is an example of courts ruling in ways that have nothing to do with existing law just to protect corruption in the state.

WE THE PEOPLE MUST GET ALL THESE SYSTEMS BACK TO WORK AND IT IS NOT HARD.  WE SIMPLY NEED TO SHAKE THE BUGS FROM THE RUG BY RUNNING AND VOTING FOR LABOR AND JUSTICE CANDIDATES AND STOP ALLOWING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTROLLED BY NEO-LIBERALS CHOOSE OUR CANDIDATES!

I want to end by saying that lawyers within the National Lawyers Guild are not bad people for not taking this on.  It is a huge problem that needs the whole of the communities to provide the support for these lawyers wanting to do good.  I  am a skeptic about the capture of these kinds of private organizations by people with no intent of serving the mission....so no doubt a little of both is happening!

National Lawyers Guild

From Wikipedia

The National Lawyers Guild (NLG) is a public interest association of lawyers, law students, paralegals, jailhouse lawyers, law collective members, and other activist legal workers, in the United States. The group was founded in 1937 as an alternative to the American Bar Association (ABA) in protest of that organization's exclusionary membership practices and conservative political orientation. They were the first US bar association to allow the admission of minorities to their ranks.

The group declares itself to be "dedicated to the need for basic and progressive change in the structure of our political and economic system . . . to the end that human rights shall be regarded as more sacred than property interests."[1]

I speak to people I know are lawyers about running for State/City Attorney to put public justice back on the map in Maryland and I hear time and again.....the problem with corruption and the suspension of public justice is that the Maryland Assembly is full of lawyers.  Indeed, it is.  Lawyers have always been the butt of jokes about trustworthiness and ambulance chasers.  Their job is to serve a client by making the law work in ways that benefit that client.  In Maryland, the Maryland Assembly is working for global corporations and corporate profit so whether is is written law, legal oversight, enforcement.....they will work against you and I to maximize profit for corporate shareholders.  Keep in mind, US corporations have spent these Obama years getting all kinds of free money from the FED and Congress and are buying back their corporate shares as fast as they can.  That means shareholders are increasingly Corporate Board members all part of that cabal of the richest.  So, when I say a neo-liberal is working for shareholders......that increasingly means only a very few people.  We know our pensions are simply used as fodder so when that is the case....you really are not a shareholder.

NOTE THAT ALL THE CANDIDATES FOR STATE AND CITY ATTORNEY ARE ALL PART OF THIS CRONY POLITICAL SYSTEM....WE NEED REAL PUBLIC JUSTICE CANDIDATES IN THIS COMING PRIMARY.....FEBRUARY 25TH IS THE DATE FOR FILING!
