First we want to finish with RETINAL IMPLANTS. We discussed how these MICROCHIPS can be placed in three location on the RETINA. All places do damage to retina. The placement of RETINAL CHIP above the FOVIA is the least damaging -----placement of the RETINAL CHIP ON THE FOVIA is highly damaging to RODS AND CONES---ergo, leading to eye disease and blindness. Third, placement of this RETINAL CHIP below FOVIA at the OTIC NERVE is most damaging because this nerve is needed for transmitting sight neurons to BRAIN. In my case, since HOSTING SERVER NOSY NEIGHBORS seem to want to do the MAXIMUM DAMAGE----something about REVENGE for sometime-----my RETINAL IMPLANT is likely on BETWEEN FOVIA NEAR OTIC NERVE. Smartphone-controlled neural implant to boost neurosciences:
August 08, 2019 //By Julien Happich
Researchers from the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST have developed a soft neural implant that can be wirelessly controlled using a smartphone, and whose payload (drugs and light impulses) can be adapted indefinitely.
These ‘plug-n-play’ drug cartridges were assembled into a brain implant for mice with a soft and ultrathin probe (with the thickness of a human hair), which consisted of microfluidic channels and tiny LEDs (smaller than a grain of salt), for unlimited drug doses and light delivery.
Controlled with an elegant and simple user interface on a smartphone, neuroscientists can easily trigger any specific combination or precise sequencing of light and drug delivery in any implanted target animal without the need to be physically inside the laboratory. Using these wireless neural devices, researchers can also easily setup fully automated animal studies where the behaviour of one animal could affect other animals by triggering light and/or drug delivery.
“The wireless neural device enables chronic chemical and optical neuromodulation that has never been achieved before,” said lead author Raza Qazi, a researcher with KAIST and the University of Colorado Boulder. This work was supported by grants from the National Research Foundation of Korea, US National Institute of Health, National Institute on Drug Abuse, and Mallinckrodt Professorship.

Functions of Hypothalamus & What Happens if it Gets Damaged?
Reviewed By:
PRAMOD KERKAR, M.D., FFARCSI, DA
Function of Hypothalamus
Hypothalamus is a part of the brain that is in the center of the brain containing multiple small nuclei having various functions. One of the most important functions of hypothalamus is that it connects the nervous system to the endocrine system through the pituitary gland. Its important role is that it helps in the production of hormones and helps in stimulating many important processes in the body.
The hormones from the hypothalamus takes care of physiological functions like regulating the temperature, thirst, hunger sleep mood, sex drive, besides this it also releases the hormones of various organs within the human body. Hypothalamus is one of the major glands of the endocrine system.
In the hypothalamus, there are two sets of nerve cells producing certain hormones. One of the set of nerve cells that produces hormone is sent down to the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland through the pituitary stalk where the hormones are directly released into the blood stream. These hormones are oxytocin and anti-diuretic hormones.
Hypothalamus tries to keep the body in the balanced state, which is known as homeostasis. Therefore, it acts as link between nervous system and endocrine system.
Different Essential Functions of Hypothalamus are:
- Maintains body temperature.
- Thirst.
- Appetite and weight control.
- Emotions.
- Sleep cycles.
- Sex drive.
- Child birth.
- Heart rate and blood pressure.
- Secretion of digestive juices.
- Balancing of body fluids.
Hypothalamus secretes different hormones for balancing of the body such as:
- Anti-diuretic hormone which will try to check how much water is absorbed into the blood by the kidneys.
- Gonadotropin releasing hormones makes the pituitary gland to release hormones to activate the sexual organs.
- Thyrotropin releasing hormones activates the thyroid to release hormones to regulate metabolism, development of growth and energy levels.
- Prolactin controlling hormones helps the pituitary gland to either start or stop the production of breast milk for feeding mothers.
- Corticotropin-releasing hormones works with the pituitary glands and adrenal glands to promote metabolism and immune response to release certain steroids.
- Hypothalamus also affects the growth hormones.
If there is any disorder that stops the functioning of hypothalamus it will be known as hypothalamic disease. Once the hypothalamus gets damaged or has some kind of disorder then the hypothalamus function is disturbed. In certain cases it becomes difficult to diagnose which of the gland is not working properly which is called hypothalamus pituitary disorders.
Hypothalamus is also known as the master switchboard, which controls the secretions of the pituitary glands. When it is stimulated it secretes some stimulants and releases hormones in the anterior pituitary similarly on the posterior pituitary. It helps in changing the heart rate and arterial pressure.
The function of each and every organ is dependent on the hypothalamus secretions, which convey the messages to the brain to perform the action and in what manner. It is one of the most important glands in the body.
Sometimes head injuries lead to hypothalamus disease, and sometimes even surgeries, radiation as well as tumors can affect the hypothalamus.
It functions as a monitor and regulates circuit control in the brain.
Hypothalamus is one of the most important glands that secrete important hormones responsible for various functions.
What Happens if Hypothalamus Gets Damaged?
When the hypothalamus gets damaged it can cause several problems that can lead to many disorders. In order to keep the body healthy one has to maintain low risk, though the diseases of hypothalamus are very uncommon.
Hormones in the body controls various functions in the body, if it gets damaged then the functions will not be done by the body and it will remain at the mercy of the other inputs.
Secondly our body is unable to bear critical changes in our body function, which can lead to deranged glucose levels. Since there are several changes happening in the body due to hypothalamus damage, it would be wide spread in the body causing changes in the body.
Hormonal imbalance can cause sleep disorders as well as appetite changes causing growth problems. It can cause insomnia as the thalamus is involved in wake and sleep cycle, which can also be a permanent sleep problem.
Damage of hypothalamus is also concerned in some movement disorder, which involves involuntary muscle contraction because the thalamus is involved in passing information on motor nerve from one place of the brain to the other.
Precautionary measures should be taken and avoid any kind of injury to the head or skull in order to prevent further problems.

15 Signs You Might Have Mental Health Issues
Jennifer McPeak Apr 20, 2017 Lifestyle
With all of the advances in science, research, and medicine, we’ve managed to control and even eradicate many diseases that once disabled or killed millions. We have medications that can help cure practically everything. Despite with these strides, one area of health still lags behind. Although awareness has spread, mental health still has a stigma to it. Even with research and new forms of therapy, mental health is something that is still largely misunderstood. People are often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Medications for mental disorders are tricky to use and require a great deal of trial and error to get the dosages right. These same medications also have side effects that can be long lasting or permanent. People hide their symptoms and illness for years, afraid to come forward. But the beginning of this journey starts with understanding the array of symptoms that could pinpoint to any number of issues. How do you know you are having mental health issues? I’m going to look at some of the most common signs that could indicate a mental health problem. I’m not advocating self-diagnosis, but by being aware of these symptoms, someone who is suffering can go to a doctor and get the help they need. Hopefully, this article and others like it will continue to provide information and knowledge on an issue that affects so many.
15. Changes In Sleeping or Eating Habits
One of the most pervasive signs across all age groups is changes in daily habits such as sleeping too much or too little as well as excessive weight loss or gain. Although these can occur with other illnesses as well as from stress, if these symptoms persist for an extended period of time or interfere with your daily life, it’s a good idea to talk to a doctor. These changes are classic symptoms of mental health disorders such as depression. Depression, as well as other illnesses, can have physical symptoms as well as mental and emotional ones. It’s always a good idea to see a doctor if you or someone you know starts showing any of these signs.
14. Unusual Feelings or Demonstrations of Anger
Everyone has moments when their anger takes control. Getting cut off in traffic, not getting the promotion, breaking a very expensive phone you just paid off are just a few of the many reasons that will cause an outburst of anger. We’ve all been there. But frequent outbursts of anger or a constant simmering anger that cannot be explained should definitely be considered a warning sign. Depression and bipolar disorder are two mental illnesses that can throw a person into a deep seated feeling of anger or resentment that to many others would seem irrational. These feelings are not imaginary and shouldn’t be discounted. If someone feels these sudden or prolonged feelings of anger, they should definitely seek out professional help.
13. Unexplained or Unusual Changes in Behaviour
We all have habits and traits that we are known for, so it’s good to notice when our behaviour is unusual. When someone who is generally prompt and courteous starts showing up late and becoming incredibly irritable or snappish, it can be a symptom of something bigger. We all have days when we aren’t at our best, but sudden, unexplained changes or prolonged, unusual behaviour patterns should be noted. If this occurs, it’s a good idea to get to a doctor and make sure that these changes aren’t signs of something more serious. It could be signs of an undiagnosed mental illness.
12. Changes in Ability to Handle ResponsibilitiesVia netdoctor.co.uk
Even the most organized, high energy, and efficient person on the planet will have a day when things go sideways. Things get lost, chores don’t get completed and tasks may be overlooked. But ongoing changes in someone’s ability to handle their daily responsibilities can be a sign of something deeper. A person with a mental health issue might lose track of time, lack focus and energy or just have no drive to complete even the most mundane tasks. If these changes become frequent or sustained, it could be a small part of a bigger problem. Don’t let these changes go unchecked. It could be something serious but readily treatable.
11. Inability to Cope
This is a big one. Life can throw some pretty bad hurdles at us. We deal with loss, turmoil and trauma. Some cope with this better than others. But an inability to cope with even the smallest of disturbances is a symptom of certain mental disorders ranging from clinical depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The chemical imbalances from these disorders rob people of the ability to cope with the daily roller coaster of life. With proper treatment and therapy, these coping skills can be learned. But for someone who isn’t diagnosed, the inability to cope with trauma and turmoil can be brutal. If you know someone who just can’t cope with problems or daily activities, perhaps recommend that they get evaluated.
10. Social Withdrawal
There are days when I just want to stay home and curl up with a book. I just don’t want to deal with people or the outside world. It’s a normal feeling for most people to occasionally crave solitude. But one sign of a possible mental health issue is an obvious and total withdrawal from social activities. It becomes almost impossible for someone with mental health issues to handle social situations. They may find themselves avoiding get togethers, cancelling plans and only going out when absolutely necessary. If you find yourself avoiding contact with people you generally want to be around or making excuses to not run errands, you may be displaying a symptom of a mental health issue.
9. Abuse of Substances
This paragraph is not advocating drug or alcohol use. But the consumption of alcohol and recreational drugs has long been a societal norm. It’s quite common for adults to get together for drinks as a night out. But the abuse of substances is a trait for many mental disorders. When someone with an undiagnosed mental health issue turns to substances such as alcohol, tobacco or other drugs to mask symptoms, it can be a major problem and possibly lead to addiction. Many people find that these substances help diminish symptoms of depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder just to name a few. If you find someone you know suddenly abusing substances they normally wouldn’t, they may be trying to cope with an undiagnosed mental disorder.
8. Extreme Emotional Mood Swings
Highs and lows in our emotions are a normal part of life. Our emotions can fluctuate because of hormonal changes, stress, and environmental factors. But mental illness can cause extremes in this routine cycle. Someone dealing with this may find themselves feeling an almost reckless manic high and then plummet to a deep depression that robs them of any desire to do anything. These extremes can happen over days or even hours. It takes this unwilling victim on an emotional roller coaster that will leave them feeling dazed, exhausted, and confused. If you notice that your emotions are reacting in a way that is similarly extreme, it could be an indication that something more is going on.
7. Difficulty Perceiving RealityVia theodysseyonline.com
This symptom is among the most severe. Some mental illnesses deprive a person of the ability to understand or recognize reality. They may not understand what is going on around them. They may build fantasies and delusions so real to them that it becomes impossible for them to distinguish between actual reality and delusion. Delusional thinking is a trait of some manic bipolar disorders and schizophrenia to name just two. If you know someone that is having trouble perceiving reality or is living in a delusional state, they need to see a professional. It is a symptom of a mental illness that will require therapy and possible medication to treat.
6. Physical Symptoms With No Apparent Cause
Many mental health disorders can have physical symptoms. For instance, fatigue, headaches, chronic pain, stomach aches and other symptoms that show up with no obvious cause can be part of an underlying mental disorder. People with clinical depression often suffer from headaches, body aches and fatigue. If you have started noticing physical symptoms that can not be traced to a physical illness, it might be a good idea to see a mental health professional and be checked for any issues. Although mental illnesses cause primarily mental and emotional symptoms, they can manifest physically as well. Don’t suffer with these symptoms in silence.
5. Anosognosia – When Your Illness Stops You From Seeing It
One insidious sign of a mental disorder is the actual inability to see changes in behaviour, feelings or personality. This is one reason many people don’t know they are dealing with an actual illness. They may not even be aware of any changes. It may take a friend or a loved one to make them realize something is wrong. This symptom is the single largest reason that many people with schizophrenia and bipolar will refuse treatment. They don’t even see that they are experiencing problems. It may even come down to having the person hospitalized in order to properly diagnose. This is a tricky symptom to deal with.
4. Inability to Understand or Relate to People
Some disorders can actually make it difficult for someone with mental illness to understand or relate to others. They may not have an understanding of social relationships or they may not have developed coping skills. Due to chemical imbalances, hormonal issues or physiological differences in the brain itself, people with some personality disorders just don’t understand or relate to people in the way most others do. It can cause stress, misunderstandings, anxiety and other issues. People with a severe form of such symptoms may not ever feel comfortable in a typical day to day routine that most take for granted.
3. Hyperactive Behaviour
This is a common symptom in children and teens. Children with mental illness are still learning to explain their emotions and may not be able to tell someone what they are experiencing. Their symptoms tend to be more behavioural. Children with disorders such as Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may demonstrate it with hyperactive behaviour such as the inability to sit still or focus. This symptom is usually the first one to be noticed. It’s usually the first thing that parents and teachers notice too, which hopefully results in an appointment with a professional that can help them understand the cause.
2. Tantrums and Disobedience
Another key indicator of an underlying issue in children is excessive tantrums and disobedience. Children go through phases of disobedience as they test limits and boundaries. This is natural as they learn, but severe or continual disobedience as well as excessive tantrums can indicate a deeper, bigger problem. These symptoms in children may be an undiagnosed mental illness. They act out in such a way to demonstrate what they are feeling because they may not be able to describe it. If you see a child that doesn’t normally act out suddenly start throwing tantrums or refusing to listen and cooperate, they may be struggling against something they just can’t explain yet, but can definitely feel.
1. Suicidal Thoughts
This is the big one. The undeniable sign of a possible mental illness is suicidal thoughts. We have all, at one time or another, felt a depression that leaves us not even wanting to get out of bed. We deal with tragedies that can temporarily incapacitate even the strongest of us, but these are not the thoughts I’m talking about. To someone with a mental illness, the constant little voice inside their head tells them that it’s hopeless and that it would be better for them to just kill themselves. This is a major symptom. If someone mentions suicidal thoughts to you, or if you yourself are experiencing them, talk to someone right away.
Mental illness is a hard subject to discuss. With very few physical signs, you never know if someone is suffering from it. It has a huge stigma and is still severely misunderstood. These fifteen signs are only a few of the many forms mental illness can take. Never underestimate how these illnesses can manifest. And never hesitate to get help.

Why Are Your Sweat Glands Under Armpit Blocked?
A blocked sweat gland under armpit can cause signs like painful bumps and bad smell. Learn how to live with it and how blocked sweat glands can be treated.
A blocked sweat gland under armpit is usually due to a condition known as Hidradenitis supperativa. Blocked sweat glands can also affect other areas including the groin, underneath the breasts or on the buttocks. It is most commonly seen in overweight people, black women and people who are exposed to heat and humidity on a regular basis.
What Causes Your Sweat Gland in Armpit to Be Blocked?
It isn’t completely clear what causes blocked sweat gland in armpit. Researchers believe it may be blocked hair follicles or a blocked sweat gland opening. There could be excess sebum in the sebaceous glands that block the glands, while the sweat glands are still producing sweat. This forces the sweat into the gland, instead of out of the gland. Trapped bacteria thrive on warm and moist areas and get a ride into the gland on the beads of sweat. This leads to inflammation and infection.
Another possible cause of blockage may be congenital malformations in the sweat glands, in which the sweat glands don't develop correctly and completely.
How Do You Know If a Sweat Gland Is Blocked?
The first signs of hidradenitis supperativa usually come on during puberty when the sweat glands in the armpits and groin become more active. Symptoms usually occur close to a hair follicle. This is where our sweat glands are located. The areas with the most symptoms tend to be groin, armpit, and around the buttocks near the anus. Some people have symptoms in other areas of close contact like underneath breasts, and the inner thigh area. It may not just affect one area if the disease is severe.
Symptoms of Blocked Sweat Gland
Painful Bumps and Smell.
You may notice small red and painful bumps. They are like blisters and can break open and drain. You may notice a foul smell coming from them. Symptoms with these bumps include burning, more sweat than normal, and itching.
Open Lesions.
There may be open sores that take time to heal. They often leak fluid. They can lead to “tunneling” under the surface of the skin and scarring after they heal.
Blackheads. Certain areas of the skin may contain crops of blackheads. These crops always have two together, which is common in this disease.
Pea-sized Lumps – There can be pea-sized lumps embedded under your skin. They sometimes become enlarged, inflamed and do not go away for years.
Possible Complications of Blocked Sweat Gland in Armpit
If you have the above symptoms, you should see a doctor for evaluation and treatment. If hidradenitis supperativa is left untreated, complications can develop including:
Scarring or permanent skin damage. If you have a severe case, you may notice long twisting scars, pitting, or permanently discolored patches of skin.
Decreased lymph drainage. You may have a lesion near a lymph node and develop scar tissue in the area. This can block the lymph channels and prevent them from draining properly. This can cause swelling to the genitals, arms, or legs.
Reduced ability to move an extremity. If you have swelling in an area, open lesions, or even scar tissue you may have trouble moving your arm or leg.
Withdrawal and depression. Depending on the appearance and possible odor of drainage, these things may cause you to withdraw from social activities. The emotional impact can lead to depression over time.
Other complications include skin cancer, Joint pains and inflammation, malaise, and Fistula formation.
Home Remedies for Blocked Sweat Gland
1) Lose weight. This can help prevent excess sweating and the rubbing of body parts.
2) Don’t smoke. Smoking can increase inflammation in the body.
3) Do not shave. Shaving the armpits or groin can rub bacteria into the glands.
4) No perfumes or deodorant. If you have lesions, do not use deodorant or perfumes in the affected area.
5) Wear loose clothing made of 100% cotton to keep you from sweating.
6) Use hot compresses. Try a hot and moist compress on the area to help the lesions drain. This can also help relieve pressure from swelling.
7) Avoid getting too hot. Try to keep your skin cool to prevent sweating. Stay away from heat sources, saunas and exercise gently when it is warm.
8) Keep the area clean and dry. Use a good antibacterial soap when you shower to keep your skin free of germs. In most cases, bacteria are not a problem but in chronic disease it should be kept clear.
9) Keep groin area cool and clean. Hidradenitis suppurativa groin refers to frequent boils in groin. If this occurs, make sure you wear cotton underwear and keep your groin area clean and dry.
What Is The Treatment for Blocked Sweat Gland?
A blocked sweat gland in armpit is actually hard to control if it is due to hidradenitis supperativa. If caught early on, treatment is more effective. Treatments include:
Treatment Options
Description
Oral Antibiotics
The doctor may prescribe a short course of oral antibiotics to help clear up any infection. This will help reduce swelling and pain. If the condition is severe, long-term antibiotics may be used to prevent new infections and as an anti-inflammatory.
Topical Antibiotics
Using topical antibiotics can help remove any bacteria that are living on the skin. Sometimes a preparation is used with benzoyl peroxide to help dry up the skin.
Steroids
Steroids can be used to help control inflammation. They are not used for long periods of time due to adverse effects on the body.
Retinoids
These are medications that are derived from vitamin A. Dermatologists prescribe them to prevent the sebaceous glands from secreting sebum. Retinoids also increase dead skin cell shedding so the pores don’t become blocked.
There is a risk of birth defects and should not be used during pregnancy or if you are planning to become pregnant.
Contraceptive
In women, going on “the pill” may help balance hormone levels. High levels of male hormones can cause excess oils on the skin and contraceptives may help to clear the skin condition. There are risks to this treatment.
Immune System Drugs
A dermatologist can use drugs that reduce immune system responses and inflammation in the body. These need to be watched carefully by your doctor and can cause side-effects such as kidney failure and reduced blood counts.
Surgery
If a lesion turns into an abscess, it may need to be opened up and drained. The doctor may give oral antibiotics before and after an incision and drainage to prevent the spread of infection. Rarely, major surgery and skin grafts are needed.
Laser Therapy
Dermatologist can burn off any bad tissue with a laser. This does not have to be done in a hospital and recovery is quick. These treatments are new and can be expensive.
Prognosis for Blocked Sweat Gland in Armpit
The good news is, not all sufferers experience severe issues. A blocked sweat gland armpit may occur once and never happen again. If it does progress, it depends on the severity of the disease. Severe disease can be debilitating. Rarely, infections

Armpit Boil – Causes, Pictures, Symptoms, How to Get Rid of & Treatment
Published August 20, 2018 by Adrian
Armpit boil arises from an inflammation of hair follicle under the arm. Do you have a recurring boil in your armpit? A painful armpit boil or cyst can be due to health problems such as hidradenitis suppurativa, diabetes or staph infection. Boil under the arm can be treated medically with antibiotics.
Home remedies are also other available options to get rid of boils in your armpit. This page provides you with information including causes and treatment options. Find also images and pictures of boils in armpit.
An Armpit Boil
Boils or furuncles can develop anywhere on your skin. Commonly, boils develop on the area where there’s an infected hair follicle. Areas on skin that have hair, sweat and friction are likely to develop boils quite often. Such areas include the neck, buttocks, armpits, face and thighs. Pus will form inside the boil, causing the boil to increase in size, become swollen and more painful. A boil will burst and pus drain out without leaving a scar. It can take days or weeks for this happen.
Most boils are caused by staph infection. Ingrown armpit hair, cysts, shaving and sweating are other causes of boils under arm. Health related causes of armpit boil include hidradenitis suppurativa, diabetes, HIV and armpit breast cancer. Read through to find more on each cause
Armpit boil pictures, images
What does an armpit boil look like? Underarm boil can be small, red, swollen and big almost half an inch size. A boil can grow deep inside the skin surface. This occurs as the bacteria digs deep into the skin layer. To help you understand the appearance or how boils look like, we have images and pictures in grey color inserted in the post.
An Armpit Boil
Armpit boil symptoms
What are the symptoms of boil in the armpit? A boil usually begins as a hard, red and painful lump. Over a couple of days, it grows beyond half an inch, becoming softer, larger and even more painful.
The signs and symptoms of a boil in the armpit include:
A red painful warm lump about half an inch, pea size
Swollen red, lump around the affected skin
Swollen lymph nodes near the boil
You may develop fever
A white or yellow tip develops, eventually ruptures to allow pus to drain out
More boils are likely to appear around the original one
Boils under armpit Possible causes:
Most boils are including one in the armpit are caused by staphylococcal bacteria. This group of bacteria enters the body through a skin cut or tiny nicks. You may develop boils after shaving, exposure to harsh chemicals and poor hygiene. Health problem associated with boils include breast cancer, diabetes, compromised immunity, HIV and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Read more on the causes below here:
1. Staph infection
Armpit boils are caused mainly by a bacteria called staphylococcus. Staph bacteria are present on the surface of the skin. They can be found in the nose, thighs, armpits or other warm creases of the skin. Boils will develop at the site where the skin has been broken by either an injury, cut or an insect bite. This gives the bacteria easy entry. Staph bacteria thrive well in areas covered with hair, warmth and moisture. The armpit is an ideal place for staph bacteria to live.
You may need to see a doctor if the area becomes red, irritated or painful. Staph bacteria can be transmitted from one person to another. Certain health conditions or medications used to heal them can make you be at risk of staph infection.
They include:
Diabetes
HIV/ AIDS
Skin condition such as eczema
Treatment of staph infection include antibiotics. Your doctor will perform several tests to determine the type of staph bacteria. Common antibiotics prescribed to cure staph infection include certain cephalosporins or nafcilin.
2. Hidradenitis suppurativa
Boils under armpit can be caused by a condition called hidradenitis suppurativa. About 1 – 4 % of the population is affected by this condition. A recurring boil or one that refuses to go more than five times, it is likely to be caused by hidradenitis. If you have this condition, you are likely to develop about two painful underarm boils in a month. In really severe cases, the boil may be present for a long time.
Hidradenitis is not an infection, it cannot therefore be passed to anyone else or any other parts of your own body. Hidradenitis is caused by blocked hair follicles, in this case the armpit hair. The blockage results to inflammation, swelling and a painful large boil developing.
There are several treatment options. They include surgery, cryotherapy, retinoid drugs or anti – TNF drugs such as infliximab used by some people. Retinoid drugs should not be used if the victim is a woman who has a possibility of becoming pregnant.
3. Poor Armpit Hygiene
Poor armpit hygiene may be another cause of boil in your armpit. Dirt trapped within the hair follicles combined with sweat and bacteria can cause a painful boil to develop. This can also be due to build-up of dead skin cells and bacteria on the skin under the arm. An opening in the skin such as a cut or injury is an entry point of bacteria that lead to infection forming a boil in the armpit. Make it a habit to maintain a good armpit hygiene.
4. Armpit Ingrown Hair
Armpit ingrown hair occurs when hair follicle grows back cutting into the surface of the skin. After shaving or waxing the hair under your arm may curl back growing towards the skin. This may lead to raised bumps forming, also called armpit razor bumps. When ingrown hair in your armpits become infected, they become painful.
Ingrown pimple-like bumps may end developing into an abscess with fluid-filled. If left untreated, the abscess can form very painful boils under your arm.
5. Shaving
Boils under armpit can be caused by excessive shaving of the armpit hair. Shaving your underarm can leave the skin delicate, sensitive and irritated with appearance of red bumps. This skin irritation due to excessive shaving of armpit hair can cause inflammation of skin causing a bumpy red rash. The bumps can a times be itchy and swollen. If the bumps are infected, they can develop into painful pimple-like bumps or boils.
Shaving frequently, use of dull blade or shaving dry and unconditioned skin are some of the causes of razor bumps leading to skin abscesses or boils in your armpit.
6. Are armpit boils a sign of breast cancer?
It is important to keep up with your health breast more often. Take not of how your breast feel and look and note any changes. Finding breast cancer as early as possible is the key to successful treatment. A lump or mass in the breast is the most common symptom of cancer of the breast. The bumps are usually hard and painless, though some may be painful.
Be informed, not all bumps or lumps in the armpit are cancer. There are a number of benign breast condition like cysts or boils that cause lumps underarm. It is therefore important to check out any lump, boil or mass right away. The sooner you identify it to be cancer, the better it’s diagnosed.
The symptom to check out for breast cancer include:
A lump in breast
Swelling in or around armpit, breast or collarbone
Skin thickening or redness
Itching and breast warmth
Nipple changes and discharge
pain
Are armpit boils contagious?
Is it possible for one to spread boil to another person by touch or contact? Boils themselves are not contagious, but the germs causing the boils are easily spread through skin-to skin. A boil is mainly causes by bacterial skin infection of hair follicle. Also known as furuncles, boils are usually caused by a staphylococcal bacteria.
There is a controversy about boils being contagious. The bacteria causing boils is normally found on the skin. It is possible to spread a boil if you have an infected boil and touch the skin of another person. Boils can also be contagious if popped or allowed to drain on the surrounding skin.
To stop spreading staph, avoid sharing towels, beddings, clothes or objects while you have a boil. You should stop touching the boil, instead keep it covered. Make it a habit to frequently wash your hands to prevent spreading the bacteria.
Swollen armpit boil hurts
Having a swollen armpit boil that hurts or painful? Hidradenitis suppurativa may be the cause of a swollen painful boil under the arm. It is causes by blockage of armpit hair follicles. Once blocked, the hair follicles become inflamed or infected. What follows is a swelling and a nasty painful, large boil developing under your arm. The most areas likely to be affected are the armpits or groins but sometimes the buttocks and under the breast are affected.
Inflamed armpit ingrown can develop into pimple-like bumps developing into an abscess with fluid-filled. If left untreated, they can form swollen and painful boils in the armpit.
Boil under armpit won’t go away, recurring or keeps coming back
Most boils usually heal with home remedies or a visit to your doctor. Rarely, the bacteria (Staph) causing boils in armpits can get into the bloodstream. A recurring boil or one that won’t go away or keeps coming back is a problem.
If you have a boil more than five occasion in your armpit, it is likely to be hidradenitis. You’re likely to develop painful boils, two in a month. It can take each about a week or to go. In severe cases, the boils may be present all the time.
Deep armpit boil with no head, won’t pop
If a boil won’t pop or burst open, you may need to get the boil lanced or drained professionally. Lancets are tiny needles that are used to draw blood briefly through your skin. Deep armpit boils are the cases of severe inflammation, where more than one boil having different pockets of pus lie under the skin. The aim is to get the pore open. The tiny needle can be pushed as far you want without feeling much pain.
For a deep armpit boil with no head or won’t pop, you should strive to get more liquid and pus out. If the boil is opened a little bit, but nothing seems to come out, use plenty of Epsom salt in a hot bath. The salt will help drain out any pus.
Painful armpit boil smell
A painful armpit cyst or boil under your arms is a case of severe inflammation. Staph infection in the skin can lead to a red, tender painful lump under your arm. This lump will turn white in a couple of days with pus collected under the skin. If the infection spreads to the deeper tissues of the skin, you develop skin abscess. The boil may have a foul smell as it drains.
Medical Treatment for Armpit Boils
Treatment for armpit boils with medicine depends on the underlying cause. Medicine including over-the-counter drugs can be used to relieve the symptoms and severity of infection. Your healthcare provider will recommend painkillers such as ibuprofen.
Other medical treatment include lancing or draining by a healthcare professional. Surgery will be done to remove large, painful boils that contain several pockets of pus. Armpit boils are mainly caused by bacterial infection. In this case, antibiotics are used to eliminate the infection.
