RE: Persons needed to work in Baltimore City government installing progressive education policy
Hello Diane,
I am a national labor and justice leader with an organization in Maryland that promotes progressive policies in what is sold as a progressive state----but it is really one of the most global corporate in the nation with huge injustice. I live in Baltimore City where politicians running as Democrats work for one of the most neo-conservative institutions in the world----Johns Hopkins. The public policy has always been repressive as with any southern state----but Baltimore is captive to a third world governance. Without surprise-----we are caught in a Michelle Rhee style education reform as bad as any in the nation. Hopkins has plans to make Baltimore an International Economic Zone ignoring all US Constitutional law and especially Federal laws regarding education and Equal Protection. The Maryland Bar Association is completely captured to the idea that there is no public justice in Maryland so there is no State’s Attorney working on behalf of civil rights or liberties including education opportunity and access.
My point in writing centers on my run for Mayor of Baltimore this 2016 election cycle. I have a good chance of winning with my campaign platform of REAL social democratic policies so I am planning for an administration to move all this forward----especially killing this Michelle Rhee privatization of K-university. I know I will have no help from any Maryland lawyers in this regard. I am an academic with degrees in Education so I can handle the policy end----but do you have legal resources---given our US graduates from law schools have as large unemployment as any category-----I would like to hire all unemployed law grads in the nation to come to Baltimore for these reforms. Do you have a source for education law people or anyone that could tap into national law graduates needing jobs right now?
Thank you,
Cindy Walsh
